Silence fell...the only sound I could hear was my own breathing. I glanced around the room, listening closely for any signs of an intruder. Still no sound. I mentally cursed myself for being so paranoid. I made my way into the kitchen for a glass of water. As I flicked the light on, I jumped as I saw Ethan sitting at the table.
"Oh my god!" I exclaimed.
"Hey." he smiled.
He stood up and watched me closely. I quickly crossed the room and threw myself into his arms.
"I've missed you so much." I sobbed as all the emotions I'd been feeling finally bubbled to the surface.
"I've missed you too." he whispered.
"What are you doing here?" I asked, not wanting to let go of him.
"Some more evidence has come to light so I've been released on bail." he told me.
I sighed as he held me tightly, I'd forgotten how good it felt to be in his arms.
"I can't believe you're finally home." I said as I eventually let go of him.
"Me neither, I've been praying for this moment." he smiled down at me as he gently kissed me.
"Do you want a coffee?" I asked him.
"I'd love one." he smiled.
I smiled back and sat at the table opposite him.
"So how are you doing?" I asked him worridly.
"I'm fine." he stated.
"Ethan.." I insisted.
"Well obviously it was horrible, but I'm out now." he sighed.
"How has it been here?" he quickly added.
"Fine, work has been busy." I told him.
"Oh and Georgia is home now." I told him happily.
He fell silent for a moment.
"You can meet her if you want?" I suggested.
He nodded and followed me upstairs. I watched him closely as he slowly walked over to her crib.
"Wow she's beautiful." he breathed as he gazed down at her.
I smiled at him, it was clear from his face that he was getting emotional. He'd been waiting for this moment for an age and now it was finally here. My heart swelled with pride as he gently picked her up and sat on the bed, cradling her gently in his arms.
"I had a lot of time to think about things in the prison and I've realised that we need to make some changes." he said quietly.
"What kind of changes?" I asked nervously.
"I don't want to stay here." he said as he looked up at me.
"Why not?" I frowned.
"If I get cleared of all charges I want to get away from everything, to go somewhere that no one knows about all this." he explained.
"A fresh start for the three of us." he added.
"That does sound nice." I said quietly.
He nodded and turned his attention back to Georgia.
"I need to talk to you about something." I said nervously.
"What is it?" he asked.
"When you were away I kissed Cal." I blurted.
He looked at me for a moment and sighed.
"I knew you felt something for him." he said quietly.
"It was just a moment of weakness because he took care of me whilst you were away." I told him.
"It's okay to admit that you feel something for him." he sighed.
"No it's not." I whispered as tears rolled down my cheeks.
"Maybe we should leave and go to America." I sighed.
He raised his eyebrow and waited for me to continue.
"To keep me far away from Cal." I added.
