On the Road Again || Luke Hemmings

Part Nineteen

*Luke's POV*

Todays the day. September 2nd. The day Amanda has to go back home, along with Emily and Deysi as well. I dont know how im going to handle the tour without her around. Its only going to be a couple weeks until i see her again but still, its going to be hard. For both me and her. And im just worried that somethings going to happen and i wont be there. Thats what worries me the most really. I need to find a way to show her how much i love her and that she will be mine forever. And i think i know just the thing. "Ashton!" I yelled as i ran to the bus door. "Whats up mate?" He asked running towards me. "Lets go." I said ripping the door open, him following close behind. "Wait! Where the hell are we going?" I stopped and turned to him, smiling to myself. "Shopping."

*Amanda's POV*

Todays the day. In a way im little excited, because hey, im going to be a senior. But then i remember i wont see Luke for awhile and that makes my heart ache. I'll see him in probably less than a weekwhen tour ends yeah, but still. And im just afraid somethings gonna happen while hes gone. I slumped back into our bunk and sighed. "I dont want to go home." I mumbled and grabbed my phone from beside me and saw that i had a message from Luke.

hey penguin, i went out with Ashton for a little bit. i'll be back by 11. love you xxxx

I looked up at the time. 11:13 AM. I smiled and slid myself out of bed only to almost fall on top of Luke. "Eager to see me huh?" He laughed. I rolled my eyes and pecked his lips. "Of course. I only have a few more hours left with you Luke." I said watching as the smile on Lukes face faded. "I know. Dont remind me." He whispered pulling me into a hug and kissing the top of my head. "Well come on." He sighed. "I guess we should get you all packed up." I looked at him and tilt my head to the side. "But my flight isnt until 6? Are you trying to get rid of me already?" I asked, trying to force a small laugh out. His eyes widened. "What? No! Thats not it at all sweetie i promise. I just figured get you packed now and we'll have the rest of the day to spend together." He explained and i looked down. He put two fingers under my chin and pushed my head back up. "Dont you ever think im trying to get rid of you okay. You know that its the complete opposite. I want you to stay here with me more than anything i promise. I love you." He smiled and kissed my cheek. "I love you too." I said blushing. "Good. Now lets get to packing. We have a long day of cuddling ahead of us." He said then smirked. "And some other stuff. If ya know what i mean."

I was all packed up and ready to go. We had an hour until we had to leave and me and Luke were trying to make the best of it. We just spent the entire day with each other, not leaving each others sides. Deysi, Michael, Emily and Calum all decided to go out and have some fun before they were soon separated from each other as well. I was currently cuddling into Lukes chest on the couch when i heard the bus door slam shut followed by a bunch of footsteps. "Hey guys." Calum said as he walked into the room. "Hey." I mumbled. Calum sighed and sat down on the couch, pulling Emily down onto his lap. "So this is it huh? I guess we better get going soon." Calum grumbled. "NO. THEY ARENT ALLOWED TO LEAVE. DEYSI YOU'RE NOT ALLOWED TO LEAVE. YOU HAVE TO STAY HERE." Michael screamed. All of us widened our eyes in shock. "Dude chill. You're going to see me in like not even 2 weeks? Its not like im going off to war." Deysi laughed slightly. "But hey, dont pout okay. I dont want to leave you behind. What would i do without my idiot around." She laughed and he hugged her. "I love you loser." He mumbled. "Yeah yeah, i love you too." She said and kissed his cheek. "Alright." Michael said. "I guess we should start filling up the car then yeah?" I looked up at Luke and he smiled down at me. I pouted and he pecked my lips. "Cmon penguin." He whispered and sat up, bringing me along with him. We all grabbed our bags and walked out to the car. And before i knew it, we were already on our way to the airport.

*Luke's POV*

The flight was delayed an hour due to some turbulence so we had some time to spare. Everyone looked so sad. I mean of course they did. None of us wanted to say goodbye. I sighed and pulled Amanda into my side as i played with the small box in my pocket. Now or never i guess. I stood up and everyone stared at me. I began to panic and looked over at Ashton who gave me a reassuring smile. I took a deep breath and looked down at Amanda. Her bright blue eyes staring into mine. "I uh- i have something i want to say." I started. "Amanda i love you very much, you know that right?" I asked and she nodded, smiling. "Well i wanted to find a way to make sure that you knew that. So Ashton and I ran out to the store and i got you this." I pulled the small velvet box out of my pocket and got on one knee and watched as her eyes widened. "Now i know we're not ready for marriage. I know that, but i definitely want to marry you in the future. So this ring is a promise. A promise that i will always love you no matter what. A promise that you will be mine forever. And a promise that i will marry you one day. And dont worry, i got one too." I smiled and showed her the ring on my finger. "Now will you please accept this ring, and accept my promise?" I asked and she nodded, tears falling down her cheeks. I swiftly took the ring out of the box and slid it on her finger. I brushed the tears from her cheeks and brought her lips to mine. "I love you so much Luke." She smiled. "I love you too babygirl." Everyone began clapping and cheering. "Congrats mate!" Ashton said patting me on the back and gave Amanda a hug, along with Deysi and Emily too. "Yeah congrats Luke. But you pretty much just stole my thunder." Calum laughed slightly. Emily turned to him with a confused look on her face. "What do you mean?" She asked and Calum got on one knee as well. "Well Luke pretty much said all the mushy stuff that i was gonna say so i guess the only thing left to say is that i love you and will you marry me?" He asked and pulled out a similar velvet box to mine. Emily laughed and nodded her head. "Yes you idiot." She said and Calum put the ring on her finger as well. "Well shit Michael wheres my ring?" Deysi asked and Michaels cheeks turned bright red. I couldnt help but laugh. "I didnt know you wanted one." He chuckled scratching the back of his neck and Deysi slapped his arm.

*Amanda's POV*

I cuddled myself into Lukes side and admired my ring. "Flight 402 to New Jersey is now boarding." We heard over the loud speaker and i looked up at Luke. He looked down at me and kissed my forehead. "Lets go sweetie." He mumbled and we all began walking. "Well this is it huh?" I asked and Luke frowned. "For now yeah. But we only have to wait a week penguin." "Longest week of my life i bet." I laughed and he smiled. "Maybe, but dont worry, it should go by fast. Im gonna be calling you every single day and texting you non stop. It'll be like you havent even left." He chuckled. "Yeah maybe you're right." I said and he pulled me into his embrace. "You should probably get going baby. You're gonna miss your flight." He said and hugged me tighter. "I know, just give me a few more seconds. I need this hug before i go." I mumbled into his chest and we pulled apart. "You'll also need this." He smiled and leaned down to kiss me. Im going to miss this. Im going to miss all of it. "Last call for flight 402 to New Jersey." The loud speaker screeched. We pulled apart and Luke brushed a stray tear from my cheek. "Have a safe flight sweetie. I love you." He said and picked up my hand, kissing the ring he gave me. "I promise." He smiled cheekily. "I love you too Luke. I'll call you as soon as i get home okay?" I said and he nodded. "Fuck i hate goodbyes." He groaned and kissed me one last time. "Well dont think of it as a goodbye. Think of it as an i'll see you later." I said and he smiled. "Fine then. I'll see ya later cutie."
