On the Road Again || Luke Hemmings

Part Thirty-One

*Christmas Eve*

"So what are we doing?" Luke asked as i grabbed a tube of glitter out of my art box. "Making reindeer food." I stated and Luke furrowed his eyebrows. "Why exactly?" "Because ive done this every year on Christmas Eve since i was little Luke." I said and poured some glitter into the bowl of dry oatmeal. "Wow, didnt know i was dating a 7 year old." He laughed and hugged me from behind, resting his chin on top of my head. "Shut uuuupppp," I whined. "I like doing this okay." I finished. "Yeah so do i!" Calum yelled as he and Emily walked through my front door. "That's because you're also 7 Calum." Luke chuckled. "Whatever. Atleast im excited about it Amanda." Calum said and draped his arm over my shoulders. "Thanks Cal." I smiled and he nodded. "Alright well its done, wanna go outside and toss it around?" I asked and Calum nodded eagerly. "Yes! Lets go!" He screamed and grabbed my arm, dragging me outside with him. He grabbed some of the 'food' out of the bowl and began throwing it around my yard, and at me. "Hey! Watch it!" I laughed and Calum shrugged. "I dont know what you're talking about." He grinned and I rolled my eyes, throwing some glittery oats his way. "Hey!" He yelled and i raised my hands up in defense. "I didnt do anything." I giggled and he rolled his eyes. "Oh it is on!" He screamed and ran after me.

*Luke's POV*

"She is such a child," I scoffed jokingly as i watched Amanda and Calum throw reindeer food at each other. She had the biggest smile on her face and she looked the happiest shes been in awhile. Laughing her full, genuine laugh. I smiled brightly at the sight. "But atleast she's cute." I laughed. "Yeah so is he." Emily said, laughing at her boyfriend. "I cant believe we're the ones being the adults here." She said and i chuckled. "I know right." I said and continued to watch the two of them. We sat in silence for about 10 seconds before Emily spoke back up. "Wanna go join them?" She asked and i nodded. "Oh, absolutely."

*Amanda's POV*

"So what movies do you guys wanna watch?" Emily asked. After throwing the reindeer food outside of my house, we all walked over to Emilys to watch christmas movies. "Elf!" I yelled and everyone just looked at me. "I second that." Luke laughed and Calum nodded. "Me too!" "Well i guess we're watching Elf first then." Emily said and put the disc in the dvd player. I felt Luke shift next to me and watched him lean himself against the side of the couch a little more. He smiled at me and opened up his arms. But before i could even react Calum plopped himself down inbetween us. "Hey. Hey Luke." He said and Luke rolled his eyes. "What?" He asked. "Hey." Calum smiled. "What?" Luke groaned. I looked over at Emily who was laughing hysterically. "Hey." He said again and Luke shoved him. "Go away." He said and Calum laughed. "Hey." "I dont like you." Luke stated and Calum pouted at him. "Hey." He frowned. "I hate you." Luke huffed. "I love you." Calum grinned and scooted closer to Luke. "Stop." He said, shoving Calum once more. I couldnt even contain my laughter at this point. "I love you." "I dont like anything you do." Luke said scooting away from him as much as he could without falling off of the couch. "I love youuu." Calum said, trying not to laugh. "You're in a gay band." Luke said. Did he really just insult his own band? Idiot. "I love you." "You're band sucks." Luke insulted once more and i just shook my head at him. "Cuddle?"
Calum asked and Luke furrowed his eyebrows. "No." He replied bluntly. "Cuddle?" Calum asked again and Luke shook his head. "No." Calum pouted and hopped in Lukes lap, causing me to laugh really hard. "Cuddle?" He asked sternly, stitching his eyebrows together, staring down at Luke. Luke stared back at him before bursting out into fits of giggles. "No." He chuckled and shoved Calum off of him, making him fall onto the floor. "Rude." He said, getting up and running over to Emily. "Cuddle?" He asked her and she nodded. "You're an idiot but yes." She laughed and Calum cheered, falling on top of her. Luke laughed then looked back over at me. "Cuddle?" He asked and i smiled. "Of course Lewi."

*Luke's POV*

About half way through The Santa Clause 2, Amanda and Emily had fallen asleep. "Look how cute she is." Calum gasped, looking down at the sight of his sleeping girlfriend. "Ive got my own cutie to look at Cal." I responded, leaning down and kissing the top of Amandas head. "You know," He started and i looked up at him. "Im really happy that you found Amanda, Luke." He finished and i smiled. "Why is that?" I asked and he shrugged. "Come on mate. You're my best friend. I knew how depressed you were getting from being on tour and from feeling alone so much. You were unhappy until you met her. She turned you back into your old self. And from what Emilys told me, you did the same for her." He said and i nodded, looking at the beautiful girl laying in my arms. "Broken boy meets broken girl i guess huh?" Calum asked and i laughed at the reference. "Yeah," I chucked. "We safety pinned the pieces of our broken hearts back together." I said and Calum laughed, making sure not too be to loud and wake the girls up. "But seriously Calum, you're right. I was unhappy before i met her, and she was unhappy before she met me. She brought and still brings so much happiness into my life and do my absolute best to do the same for her. She means the world to me Cal. I never want to be without her." I finished, running my fingers through Amandas hair. "I know exactly what you mean bro, we really got lucky didnt we?" He asked and i nodded, a huge smile tugging at my lips. "Yeah Cal, we really did." I felt Amanda wiggle around in my grasp and i knew she was about to wake up. "Baby it's getting late, you wanna go home?" I whispered and she groaned, shaking her head. "Come on sweetie." I said and patted her leg. She groaned once more and slowly sat herself up. "See ya tomorrow Cal." I said as we got up and walked towards the door. "See ya mate, bye Amanda." He smiled and she waved tiredly back at him. We both walked outside and i closed the door behind us. I grabbed her small hand in mine and walked us down the steps and to the gate. I looked down at her and she looked back at me with tired eyes. I smiled and i kissed her forehead. "Lets get you home sleepy head."

I grabbed Amandas keys out of my jacket pocket and unlocked the front door. I pushed it open and walked inside, her dogs barking almost immediately. "Calm down pups." I cooed and pet their heads. I turned around and saw Amanda locking the door behind us. "Do you need a drink or anything sweetie?" I asked her and she shook her head. "No thanks Lewi." She smiled. "Alright, lets go upstairs then." I said and grabbed her hand once more. We went up the small staircase and i kicked her door open with my foot. "Go turn on your fairy lights and sit on the bed baby, i'll get you some pajamas." I said and she nodded. I went over to her dresser and grabbed a pair of flannel pajama bottoms out of the droor. I walked over to her and put them in her lap. She stood up and quickly changed out of her jeans. I took off my shirt and threw it to her. She caught it and looked up at me, a smile spread across her face. I smiled back at her and tore off my jeans as she turned around to take off her sweater. I shook my head at her shyness and went over to her closet. I grabbed my suitcase and pulled out a pair of sweat pants. I pulled them on and walked back over to Amanda who was already laying in bed. She scooted herself over and lifted up the comforter for me. I grabbed it out of her hand and layed down. I turned myself to face her and she instantly cuddled into my chest. "Goodnight babygirl. I love you." I whispered and kissed the top of her head. She let out a small yawn and nuzzled her face into my chest a little more. "Goodnight Lewi, i love you too."
