I woke up to a knock on the door. We were still all sleeping in the living room. I quickly got up and opened the door before anyone else could get woken up by it. I opened the door and saw Aubrey standing there with a smile on her face."What are you doing here?" I asked her as i softly closed the door behind me and walked outside to where no one could hear us.
"She said yes" Aubrey said with a smile. I yawned and leaned against the wall. It was around sunrise couldn't be earlier than 6:00 am.
"Who?" I asked. I couldn't even walk straight and she's trying to tell me stuff. I couldn't function with early in the morning.
"Deanna. She said we could. But we need to leave early before people start waking up and asking questions. I got my bag packed and everything." Aubrey said with a smile as she set her bag down and started to list through the things she had in them.
"Okay...okay..." i said as i held up my hands. "Just let me get ready, I'll meet you by the gates" i said as i walked back inside. She nodded her head and walked off.
I went back inside as quietly as I could. I got dressed and went into the kitchen to write a note. I assumed would be back in a couple of hours and everything would be fine.
To whoever is reading this,
I'm going on a run with Aubrey, a girl. She wants experience and Deanna said yes. I assume i will be back in a couple of hours but if I'm not back by daylight something went wrong. Anyways, make sure Glenn doesn't kill Evie. Love, Y/n.I was able to make an Irish exit. I had my katanas with me, as long as anything else i needed in the small bookbag i had. I'd dint want to use guns because that took a lot of practice and we didn't have a lot of that at all. I had gone back and sneaked my weapons before.
It wasn't that hard. I sighed when I saw Aubrey's smiling face waiting for me at the gates. It looked like someone was standing on top going to open the gates for us. I yawned as I made my way up. It looked like they were arguing.
"You better hurry, if Deanna sees this she is gonna be so mad" The guy said snapped at Aubrey. Aubrey rolled her eyes and completely ignored him and focused on me.
"Y/n!" Aubrey said as she waved me over. As I made it up to me she wrapped her arms around me and hugged me tight. I tensed up.
"Okay so we're hugging now" I mumbled, she pulled away and smiled at me. I yawned, this wasn't the typically for me. We were in a safe neighborhood so let's go back out there in the wild. Why not?
"Sorry! I'm a big hugger" Aubrey said with a smile as she pulled me along to the gate. The guy avoided eye contact with me as he looked down. Almost ashamed he was doing this. I mean the guy looked like he did nothing wrong.
"Let's get this show on the road. I don't wanna be out there all day" I said as I stuffed a knife in my boot as I walked outside.
When we were finally out of the gates everything was quiet. Maybe too quiet? I couldn't tell. I had a couple of ideas in mind. Maybe just go and collect some stuff show her how to kill a walker and leave.
"So, how long have you and Glenn been together for?" Aubrey asked as she looked up at me. She was wearing ripped skinny jeans, and a zip up jacket. You could tell she was very sheltered and this was propably the first time she ever stepped out of the gates.
"Since this whole outbreak started" I said as I thought back to the very beginning. I smiled a little, I miss our tiny camp. Where everyone was still together. It made me think of all of the lives we have lost and all of the ones we have gained as well.
"Wow, so this whole thing brought you guys together?" Aubrey asked as she looked at me with a smile. She was clueless to anything going on around her. She didn't notice that just behind her a tree branch cracked and a walker was slowly coming her way.
"Just about" I muttered as I passed by her and walked up to the walker. I took the walkers head clean off. The body fell to the ground and I took my katana and stepped it in the head. I stepped on the walkers head to pull my sword out. I looked around to make sure they weren't any more around.
"How did you...? I didn't even hear it coming" Aubrey said as she was a bit shaken up. Almost like that's the first time she has seen a walker. Probably the closest she has ever been to one before.
"Just got to keep in mind of your surroundings. It's not like how it was before. Things have changed" I said as I discarded the Walker body and kept on walking along. I didn't want to be out here all night. The dark probably was not the best idea but I didn't want to be out here for too long long.
"Can you teach me how to...kill one of those things?" Aubrey asked as she stayed much closer to me as we kept on walking. I felt her shoulder pressed into mine as we moved along. I nodded, it was probably for the best. These people were clueless.
"Yeah, won't be so hard" I said as I looked around and we stayed in the middle of the street. Not so close to the words and just enough we could tell where we were going.
