28| Almost There

Y/n POV

"Glenn! He's gotta be somewhere around here" Rick grunted as he killed off another Walker that was heading toward him. I kicked off a Walker that was coming my way.

"Glenn!" I shouted again hopping for a response but I didn't get anything back. I didn't want to freak out. Things would not end well if I did. I needed to stay calm and keep myself safe. I watched as Rick shot a flare in a walkers head because he was out of bullets.

It gave off light and we were able to see when the walkers came piling towards us. We each killed the walkers that were heading our way. I sliced a walkers head off and it fell down infront of me at my feet. All of the sudden there was gun fire and the walkers fell to the ground. It was Glenn and he had Aaron with him.

I ran to Glenn and I gave him a kiss on the lips. I felt him kiss back before he wrapped his arms around my waist and pulled me into him. Aaron was speaking from beside of us but I wasn't worried about him.

"Don't ever do that again" I mumbled as I held on to Glenn even tighter. I felt his chest go up and down due to the heavy breathing as he kissed the top of my head.

"Can't make any promises" he said as he let out a small laugh and I rolled my eyes. I didn't care now because I knew he was safe.

"If you really want to tie me up again, that's fine c but hurry up." Aaron said as he held up his hands and dropped the knife he had.

"There's no time. We're going that way" Rick said as he grabbed the weapon that was on the ground from Aaron. And we all followed after Rick. We needed to get back to our people.

When we made it back to the road there was no walkers and it was completely dark. I watched as Rick looked both ways debating on which way to go. And I also had no idea which way.

"Where are they?" Rick asked Aaron as he grabbed his arm.

"I don't know." Aaron said as he looked around almost as lost as we were.

"If this is a trap to get us back where you want us, your people are going to die tonight." Rick said as he started to walk down the road and we followed after him. "The flare was towards the water tower." Rick said as he headed that way.

As we made it into the town farther down Rick had whistled waiting to hear if someone would whistle back. When we heard a whistle we looked out to see Daryl waving towards us. I was able to breathe that meant everyone was safe.

"Dad!" I heard Carl say as he ran over to hug Rick. I walked faster and I gave Daryl a hug.

"Don't scare me like that" Daryl grunted as he hugged me back and kissed the top of my head. I smiled as i turned around to see Glenn holding Evie as Carol passed him to her. I walked over and I gave her a kiss on the cheek where she smiled.

"Look she smiled" Glenn said in complete aww. I smiled and kissed Evie again and she let out a tiny giggle. I couldn't help it but I felt like my heart melted. She was going to be such a sweet girl.

As we all reunited as a group Aaron was scanning all of us shouting someone's name. Eric? I think I was too focused on my child to even give a fucking shit. Aaron had pissed me off today all ready.

"In here!" The voice called and I watched as Aaron ran inside the building.

When we went back inside just to be safe Aaron came into the room where we were to talk to us. Evie was on my hip while Glenn was leaning on a wall and I leaned in front of him while Glenn had his hand on my hip. His thump rubbed small circles into my side.

"Everyone. Thank you. You saved Eric. I owe you. All of you. And I will make sure that debt is paid in full when we get to our community. When we get to Alexandria. Now, I'm not sure about you, but I'd rather not to any more driving tonight. Maybe we can hit the road tomorrow morning." Aaron said, I could tell he was grateful and maybe he was not so bad after all.

"That sounds fine. But if we're saying here for the night, you're sleeping over there." Rick said as he pointed to the corner.

"You really think we got to do that?" Maggie asked as JJ had his arm wrapped around her shoulder.

"It's the safe play. We don't know you." Rick said as he squinted his eyes at Aaron.

"The only way you're gonna stop me from being with him right now is by shooting me." Aaron said as he tried to take a step forehead but Glenn stopped him. 

"Whoa. Rick, he told us where the camp is. And he really was only traveling with one other person. They're both unarmed. One of them a hit a broken ankle. I want us to be safe too. I can't give up everything else. I know what I said, but it does matter." Glenn said as he talked to Rick. It would be fine do they stayed together. Otherwise Rick would look very homophobic keeping them away from eachother.

"All right." Rick said as he stood aside so Aaron could go be with Eric. We were able to be safe for one more night before we could mention to Alexandra and be completely safe for once and for all. This would finally mean that maybe things would be able to change after all.
