Y/n POVWhen we walked out of the building, there were trees scattered the ground with dead walkers on the ground. It looked like trees fell down but our barn was protected completely.
Some walkers were stuck under trees, we didn't have to worry about them because we knew there were no way of getting out, so we were safe.
I took Sasha farther until I saw a nice log that looked safe enough to sit on. I sat down and I felt her sit down next to me. She was bouncing her leg and she obviously looked nervous as well.
"Why are we out here?" She asked as I felt her eyes peer into the side of my head. I didn't look at her but focused on the view infront of me.
It was a field of lavender with the sun rising above it, the soft pink, blue and yellow invaded the sky while the sun was slowly pushing its way up. It was soft. The smell of wet grass filled the air. The smell was comforting.
"For this" I said as I looked ahead and I let her do the same. We fell into a comfortable silence as we watched the sun come up.
"I see it" She said as she broke the silence. "Noah, that kid...he said he didn't know if he can make it. That's how I feel." She said as her voice started to break.
"You're going to make it." I said softly as I turned over to look at her in the eyes. There were tears slowly streaming down her face and she looked conflicted. "Both of us. We will. That's the hard part." I said as I looked down at my hands.
"Hey. Hi" I heard a man say. I stood up and grabbed my sword to be prepared. He held up his hands and spoke slowly. He had clean clothes and he looked clean, like he had a stable place to stay. "Good morning. I didn't mean to interrupt. My name is Aaron." The man said as he slowly walked closer. He had a smile on his face which was oddly pulling me in to a sense of comfort. "I know, stranger danger. But I'm a friend. I'd like to talk to the person in charge. Rick right?" My heart stopped. How did this man know Rick's name?
"How do you know-?" Sasha started to ask before I cut her off, there were more important questions than that.
"Why?" I asked, keeping my swords tightly kept in my hands and doing my best to stay calm. My voice was strong and demanding hoping to give some sort of dominance in the tone of the way the conversation was going.
I could take my chances on this man. He didn't look like he knew how to use a gun or even know how to throw a punch, it would be easy but who knows how many people he could have hiding in the trees waiting for one of us to make the wrong move to quickly.
"Everyone..." I said loudly as I opened up the barn door. We had no choice, this guy seemed harmless and against us, I do believe we have the upper hand if anything did go wrong. "This is Aaron." I said as I stepped in and moved out of the way for everyone to see.
As soon as Aaron came into few most of the group got up and held up their guns ready to shot if there was any sort of problem. Sasha was still coming in by the time Daryl moved swiftly to the door and made sure she was in before he checked outside and shut the barn door.
I couldn't blame them for acting this way, considering everything that has been happening. "We meet him outside. He's all by himself. We took his weapons and we took his gear" I said as I watched Daryl check him for any weapons we could have missed.
"Hi" Aaron said as he helped up his hands, trying to tell us he meant no harm. Just as that the soft cries from Judith awoke, she was crying in Ricks arms as Rick kept his eyes steady on Aaron. Rick gave Carl a nod and gave the weeping Judith over to Cale who gladly took her. "It's nice to meet you" Aaron said as he held out a hand taking a step forward. Everyone else inched forward and clocked their guns, Aaron knew it was smart to take a step back.
"You said he had a weapon?" Rick asked as he looked behind Aaron to me. I passed Aaron and gave the small gun to Rick and walked back to where I was standing before. Rick checked the gun and then put it in his back pocket. "There something you need?" Rick asked Aaron still confused why he was here.
"He has a camp nearby. He wants us to audition for membership." Sasha said almost sarcasticly as she recalled what Aaron had told us on our way back to the barn.
"I wish there was another word" Aaron said as he still had his hands up in surrender. "Audition makes it sound like we're some kind of dance troupe." Aaron said with a small dry chuckle trying to ease the situation. No one even dared to laugh or find the man funny. "That's only on Friday nights. Um, and it's not a camp" Aaron said as he looked back at Sasha. "It's a community. I think you all would make valuable additions. But it's not my call. My job is to convince you all to follow me back home. I know. If I were you, I wouldn't go either. Not until I knew exactly what I was getting into. Sasha, can you hand Rick my back?" Aaron asked as he looked back to Sasha.
Sasha slowly stepped forward and took the backpack she had on and handed it to Rick. "From pocket, there's an envelope. There's no way I could convince you to come with me, just by talking about our community. That's why I bought those" Aaron said as Rick kneeled down to look at what was in his pack. "I apologize in advance for the picture quality. We just found an old camera store last-" Aaron was trying to say before he was rudely cut off by Daryl.
"Nobody gives a shit." Daryl grunted, Aaron turned around cut off by the rude comment before he turned back around.
"You're absolutely 100% right." Aaron said as he watched Rick look through the envelope. "That's the first picture I wanted to show you because nothing I say about our community will matter unless you know you will be safe. If you join us, you will be. Each panel in that wall is a 15-foot-high, 12-foot-wide slab of solid steel. Framed by cold, rolled steel beams and square tubing. Nothing alive or Dead gets through that without our say so. Like I said security is obviously important. In fact, there's only one resource more critical to our community survival the people. Together we're strong. You can make us even stronger." Aaron rambled on. Rick got up from his kneeling position and looked to Michonne who was leaning over his shoulder closely.
"The next picture you'll see inside the gates. Our community was first constructed-" Aaron tired to say before Rick went up there and punched him in the face. Aaron slowly and then tumbled over in the floor knocked out.
"Fuck me" I whispered as I wiped my hands over my face. What the fuck do we do now?
