Y/n POV

We split up into separate cars. I was in the first car. Glenn was driving, Rick was in passenger seat, I was in the middle while Michonne was on my left and Aaron was on my right. Evie was with Carol and Daryl and I knew she was safe. The car ride was quiet and every so often Aaron would give us directions.

"Um, I'm trying to collect all 50 states" Aaron said as he watched as Rick held up license plates and showed us. It was a valid statement and did make sense but at the same time it seemed a little sketchy. "Put them all on a wall in my house." Aaron said with a small smile.

"You have your own house?" I asked him. I couldn't remember the last time someone saying that they had a house and it was safe enough.

"Mhm. See for yourself" Aaron said as he looked down to his side. It was an envelope with pictures in it and I grabbed it and looked through them. They were black and white photos of all sorts of things.

They were color panels, big houses that looked like it was in a neighborhood, you could even gardens. It looked like what they would was before the dead took over. It looked normal. I felt a pang in my heart and got a sense of this is what the world should be like.

I felt Michonne look over my shoulder as we scanned the pictures. I looked at Aaron and he was already looking at me smiling at me back, this was real. And we could have this. It felt weird as I quickly scanned more of the pictures and realized something was missing.

"Why don't you have any pictures of your people?" I asked as I looked over at him. That was the only odd thing.

"Oh, I took a picture of the whole group, but I didn't get the exposure right. When I tried to develop it later, it just-" Aaron said before I cut him off.

"Did you ask him the questions?" I said as I looked at Rick in the front seat. The 3 questions we ask anyone we come across.

"No" Rick said as he looked behind him at us. It felt weird sitting next to Aaron if he could be a none killer. And that this is all fake.

"How many walkers have you killed?" I asked him as I took it upon my self to do it.

"I'm sorry, what?" Aaron asked as he looked at me in almost shocked why I would ask a question like that.

"How many?" I asked again. I didn't need an exact number just a range. To know why we could be dealing with.

"I don't know. A lot." Aaron said as he was visibly stressed and confused why would ask him something like that. The whole car was listening. You could tell. Every once in a while I could see Glenn look at me in the review mirror. He didn't like I would be sitting next to Aaron and we had a heated discussion before we left.

"How many people?" I asked him as I messed with the mechanic arm. The piece of metal that was falling off. Nothing important and Christopher could easily fix it if it would have become a problem.

"Two" Aaron said. I didn't really expect him to say any number and it caught me by surprise.

"Why?" I asked him, the last question. The final question. Almost like a test. Testing the answer that Aaron was about to give us.

"Because they tried to kill me." Aaron said, I watched as Rick pulled out something else from the glove compartment and it was a microphone. A device you use to listen and record people.
