Y/n POVWe were all sitting down in a small clearing in the cars. We were waiting for Daryl to come back before we made any more progress with the cars or just walking in general.
We heard stumping noises and we turned around and saw Daryl walk over to us with no food at all. I slumped back down and I was holding Evie in my lap. She smiled as Glenn poked her nose.
"So all we found was booze?" Tara asked as she watched Abraham open a bottle of whiskey and drink some of it.
"Yeah" Rosita said as she hugged her knees to her chest.
"It's not gonna help" Tara said as she looked over at Abraham who took another big swig.
"He knows that" Rosita answered for Abraham who seemed pretty disconnected from the conversation.
"It's gonna make it worse" Tara said as she moved hair out from her face.
"Yes, it is." Rosita agreed.
"He's a grown man. And I truly do not know if things can get worse." Eugene said.
"They can" Rosita mumbled.
There was a rustling sound and the sound of barking dogs. Not the nice kind dogs, they were blood coated in their fur and they definitely had no idea of real human contact anymore. I flinched when I heard the sound of gun going on.
Sasha. She shot all of the dogs. The sound of Evie crying came next. I passed Evie to Glenn who gladly took her and I went over to Sasha. I snatched the gun from her and she looked shocked.
"What the fuck?" She said as she tried to take the gun back. I passed the gun to Michonne and she took it with her.
"Cool it. You're not thinking straight. You're gonna get one of us killed or even yourself" I said as I walked away from her.
Dog. Yeah no I wasn't eating that. I was gonna stand my ground. Why would I eat a pet? That's just like terrible. I sat on the ground and held Evie in my lap.
"I can hold her while you eat?" Carol said as she finished the last bite of her meat.
"No it's okay" I said as I nodded and kept a tight grip on Evie. I really didn't want to eat a dog. My head was killing me and I knew I had to eat but it wasn't worth it, was it?
"Okay" Carol nodded as she walked away over to Daryl. I leaned my head against a tree. The meat smelt a lot like steak and it made me want to eat some.
"Why aren't you eating?" Glenn asked as he sat down next to me.
"What are you talking about?" I asked him as I gave him a little look.
"Is it because it's a dog and you like feel weird about it? Y/n you gotta eat" Glenn said as he ran his fingers through his hair and looked over at me.
"Who said I wasn't eating?" I asked him as I rocked Evie in my arms.
"Eat" Glenn said as he took Evie from me. I groaned and crossed my arms over my chest. "Eat or I'll make Daryl do it for you" Glenn said with a small laugh. I groaned and picked up a small piece of meat.
I held my nose and I ate it quickly. I didn't want to think about the taste or the smell. Or how it once was a dog that had a loving home. Due to Sasha's crazy rampage we couldn't really do anything about it.
Once we started walking again, my legs felt terrible. I wasn't so hungry anymore which was on the bright side. Though we were running out of water.
We stopped in the middle of the road, there was a note and enough water bottles for all of us. It was like someone planted that for us.
The note said from a friend, we couldn't really trust anyone out here. It seemed like a bad idea to just take the water without any thought to it.
"What else are we gonna do?" Tara asked as she looked around. We were obviously getting followed.
"Not this. We don't know who left it." Rick said as he looked around hoping to spot the person.
"If that's a trap, we already happen to be in it. But I, for one, would like to think it is indeed from a friend." Eugene said as he stared down at the water.
"What if it isint? They put something in it?" Carol asked as she looked down at the water. That didn't seem to stop Eugene as he leaned down to grab a bottle of water.
"Eugene" Rosita said as she crossed her arms over her chest.
"What are you doing, dude?" Tara asked him as she watched him open up the bottle of water.
"Quality assurance" Eugene said as he put the bottle of water to his lips, before Eugene could drink out of it Abraham smacked the bottle of water out of his hands.
"We can't." Rick said. Before anyone could say anything, it started to rain.
I sighed in relief as I felt the ran slowly fall down on me. I made sure that Evie was protected by the rain. There were chorus of laughter as it stayed to rain.
It was the best thing ever, because you couldn't keep track of time anymore. But the rain felt wonderful on your dry skin.
"I'm sorry, my lord" Gabriel said from beside me. I gave him a confused look as I saw him start to cry.
"Everybody get the bags, anything you can find." Rick said, the sound of thunder wasn't a good sign. "Let's keep moving" Rick said. The sound of Judith and Evie cries were not helping us at all.
We needed to seek shelter quick and fast. The most important thing was getting safe so we were not outside in this storm any longer.
