December 31: Picking up where we left off.

Wednesday and Enid warily entered their hotel room. Enid untangled herself from her girlfriend with a sheepish smile. Nothing seemed out of the ordinary but it was better to err on the side of caution. From what they could tell, the room was exactly as they had left it. Moments later, there was a crackle of electricity in the air. The water ran briefly in the bathroom. Wednesday's eyes went wide. She shoved Enid behind her, a knife instantly slid into her palm and she took a defensive stance. A door creaked down the hall where the bedroom was. In response, Enid's fangs and claws slid out. They heard plodding footsteps, and a male humming. Enid clung to Wednesday. She attempted to say something but was shushed harshly by a pointed glare.

The footsteps grew closer and a figure came into view. Stark paper white skin. Covered in nothing but a towel wrapped around their waist, and a shower cap on their head. In one hand they had a rubber ducky. In the other, a bright pink loofah. A toothbrush was sticking out of their mouth. The figure startled at seeing the two girls standing before him. He let out an ear piercing shriek. "EEEEKKKK!" He gasped as he dropped the rubber ducky and the loofah in order to cover his chest. They hit the ground with a soft thud and a squeak respectively.

"Ooof." He stated as he shut his eyes and turned his back to the girls. "Fester." Wednesday said his name commandingly. He turned back around sheepishly. "Ah, H-hi Wednesday. Enid." He gulped. "Funny running into you two here." He waved with one hand while his other still covered his chest. "Fester, what are you doing here?" Wednesday snapped as she slid her knife back into its hiding place. She gave Enid a soft look. She retracted her fangs and claws.

"I ah...well I...I just...took a bath." Fester stammered around the soft blue toothbrush still in his mouth. "In our hotel room? What in the world possessed you? Hot date?" Wednesday huffed. "Look, I-I wanted to look nice for tonight. For the Gala. You know, since I'm on the board now." Fester added shyly. "I see." Wednesday snarked ironically. The trio stood in an awkward silence. "I should just...I'm going to...yeah." Fester stuttered. The toothbrush slipped out of his mouth and clattered to the floor.

Enid gasped. "Wait?! Is that MY toothbrush?!" She hissed. Fester shrugged. Wednesday gave Enid an apologetic look. Fester turned and moved to bend over to pick it up. The towel Fester was wearing shifted ever so slightly. "Wait!" Wednesday snapped. Wrinkling her nose. Fester stopped mid-motion. "Fester, please go get dressed before you do anything else." Wednesday asked pinching the bridge of her nose. Fester turned and grinned. He looked down as if rerealizing his state of undress, gasped, covered his chest again and slowly paced backwards out of the room and down the hall.

Wednesday led Enid over to the couch. They sat in silence looking out over the New York City skyline. "Wednesday can we...Hanson..." Enid trailed off. Her lip quivered. Wednesday raised her hand and shook her head. Tears brimmed Enid's eyes. Now that the initial relief of them both surviving that situation had worn off, Wednesday was rightfully pissed off. She stood and began to pace. "No." She stated flatly. "No?" Enid questioned. "Yes, no. Not now. You don't get to do this. I'm not interested in talking about that right now. I told you Enid. I told you about my visions. I told you who he was. I tried to tell you more than once. You blatantly disregarded my warnings. You dismissed me at every utterance, you refused to believe me even after he put his hands on you. You still defended him. I assume because he was another wolf and you felt validated. You yourself said your mother was up to something. If I'm not enough for you...if you can't trust me...if I'm not...because I'm not a wolf...maybe we should have waited for the mate bite. We acted too rashly...I'll find a way to undo it...if I...I'll set you free of me Enid even if it kills me..." Wednesday trailed off.
