I woke up at 9:28 and I went downstairs to the kitchen. My dad was in there eating.

"I made some pancakes and sausage"

"Thanks" I said getting a plate and putting the pancakes and sausage on the plate. I sat down at the table across from my dad and I said my grace and started eating. This food was so good. Dad hasn't made pancakes in a while, mom is always cooking.

"So you had a nice time yesterday" My dad said.

"Yes sir, the movie was good"

"Where y'all went to eat"

"Red lobster"

"Oh did he pay for it"

"Huh"

"You heard me"

"Dad I went with Lauren to the movies"

"You don't have to lie to me, I saw you get in the car with that young boy"

"What are you talking about"

"When you were at the park"

"How you know..."

"Your mom made me follow you"

"SHE DID WHAT...?? WHY CAN'T Y'ALL JUST TRUST ME"

"First you're gonna stop yelling, and because you lie to us why couldn't you have said you going somewhere with a boy"

"I'm sorry that just makes me upset and because y'all won't let me date anyone"

"Look, I know you think that we don't want you to date, it's not that we just want the best for you, we don't want you sad anymore and we don't want you heart broken and we don't want anything happening again"

"Dad I'm not going to.."

"I know you say you won't but you said that before and now that you lying and all this stuff you make us not believe you anymore it's like I can't even trust my own daughter"

"I'm sorry daddy, I just want y'all to let me be free and on my own"

"I understand, but do you go with that young man"

"Yes sir"

"Well can you tell me next time when you get a boyfriend"

"Yea I guess but how come you're so calm and cool about this usually you are mad and telling me I can't go with any boys" I said eating a piece of my sausage.

"That's not me that's your mom who says that, I can try to help you out with that"

"Really?" I said cutting my pancake and eating it.

"Yea, sure you're my daughter and I could trust you to go with boys if you would just tell me"

"Well why does mom act like that, I know what I did but why doesn't she want me with any boys at all"

"Because she doesn't want you to make the same dumb mistakes that she did"

"What do you mean"

"Your mom never told you but you have an older brother"

"What??"

"She had him when she was around your age"

"Is he your son??"

"No"

"How come she never told me"

"Because she doesn't like to talk about it"
