It might be easy for you to fit in. You might have that little group of friends that'll help you in anything. You might even have just one friend, but that one friend is always, and I mean ALWAYS, there for you. Well, that's not too much with me. My name's Reese Albino. I get it's a strange name to have, but I've always been strange, I guess.

It's my first day of 8th grade, and well, I just don't think it's gonna go too well. The main reason is because I'm in a different school, and when you're in 8th grade, it doesn't go too great. I mean, so far it's been decent. 1st hour was boring, 2nd hour was talkative (I wasn't a part of the talking), and 3rd hour was just awkward. And no, I'm not going into it!

Of course, after 3rd hour was lunch. Just great.

I sat on the end of the rectangular table and ate my lunch, quietly. I heard a lunch tray plop onto the spot next to me, but I ignored it.

"H-hi," The person said.

I looked at the person. She had light brown hair, mint green eyes, peach skin, and what looked like small elf like ears. I gave her a small smile and continued eating.

"You a new student here?" She asked.

I nodded.

"Are you a mute or something? C'mon, you probably do talk a little bit."

I sighed and looked at her again.

"Yeah," I answered, "I am a new student here."

"So am I!"

She stuck her hand at me. I looked at it, confused, and she just gave me a smile.

"Not used to shaking hands huh? Don't worry, I'll give you some time."

She started eating her lunch, and I was left sitting there. After a moment, I started eating again.

"Oh," she said softy, "And, my name's Valery. You can just call me Val, though."

I chuckle.

"Okay Val."

She glances at me and smiles.

"See, it's not so bad talking now is it?"

"Nope," I replied, smiling back, "It actually feels good to talk to someone nice."
