Waking Up

I held the little plant in my hand and brushed its leaves. It was a small Willow, but it had Azalea buds at the ends of each sagging branch. I guess it goes with her name. It still made me feel guilty on the inside.

She had nothing but sorrow in her life, and she was under control by Grody through the last bits of it. I sighed as Faux came up to me.

"We can plant her by Jessica," he insisted. "The two can speak to one another. Besides, you need to save whoever Grody trapped in Azelea's castle."

"We also need golden dust," Lilac said. "I don't think Aspen will wake up unless we heal his wounds."

"Or Reese could kiss him awake," Val teased.

"Valery!" I shouted.

"What?" she shrugged. "Just trying to lighten the mood here. IT'S TOO DEPRESSING! But seriously, where are we going to find golden dust?"

"This is Azelea's home," Alex spoke. "If her Witches' tales are right, then there should be some in the castle!"

Suddenly, I heard shouts and screams of familiar people. They were boy voices, but I could faintly heard them. I looked to Val, and her eyes were wide with shock and fear.

"Ethan!" she said abruptly. "Your brothers! They're here!"

"W-w-what?" I gasped. "Oh no... where are they? I can't make out where they are exactly!"

"Alright," Autumn said. "Calm down. We need to split up. I'll go to find the golden dust with Rose's Life Stone."

"Why my Life Stone?" Rose asked. "What can it do?"

"Your mother was supposed to be the next Mystic of the Light. However, she died during the Darkness attacking, and she hid her Life Stone in this castle. It is said to lead you to the closest golden dust in the area."

"Well," Faux said. "You go. We'll take care of Azelea's plant and Aspen. Okay?"

We all went to go, but I noticed Faux stopped Rose. I didn't stop to listen to their conversation although I was extremely curious as to what it was about. I ran with Val, Alex, and Mom.

I had to get the people of Earth, and my family, out of their situation.

Alex

We ran to where my and Val's ears were leading us.

When we came to a stop, we entered this room with a thin, stone bridge with a never ending pit beneath it. I whimpered as my fear of heights began to get to me. Come on Alex. You can fight this fear. Calm down and breathe.

"Reese!" A high pitched voice said.

All of our heads looked up in unison as my mouth gaped open at the humans that were hanging above our heads with a flying lion circling around them. It seemed to be really hungry, too.

"Daniel!" Reese shouted. "I'm here, don't worry!"

"Reese?!" A lower voice said. "How are you here? We thought you'd gone missing!"

"Micheal, it's a long story! Hold on, we'll-"

"Ah, Reese," An even lower voice spoke. "It's nice to see my daughter be one with the Mystics of the Light. And... Lilith?"

The flying lion then came to the ground. It's golden feathers were spread majestically as it sniffed the air around us. He then smiled with this sharp teeth showing.

"" Lilith said. "What have you done? DO YOU KNOW WHAT YOU DID TO YOUR OWN FAMILY?!"

"I... I thought you were dead..." he said. "Grody told me.... he told me you wouldn't come back at all."

"Mom?!" Both Daniel and Micheal said.

Lilith then flew into the air and stopped in front of her two boys. Whatever was going on, I could tell that it was personal. Logic, Alex. Logic. After a while,  came towards us. His eyes turned from a red to a light brown.

Wait... was he under Grody curse as well?

Reese seemed to be the only one not showing any emotion.

"Dad..." she said. "Why me?"

"G-Grody..." he said in a soft voice. "Reese. I am so sorry for everything horrid I've done."

"You were under his spell, weren't you?" I asked.

"I was... I had no control."

Like Azelea, I thought.

"So... even though you were here-"

"I left for a while. Grody's curse made me a person I wasn't. That included me drinking and... you being treated much lower than you really are."

"And there was no way of getting you out of it? Only if you saw Mom again?"

"Reese!" Lilith called out. "I need all the help I can get here. Do you think you can fly up?"

Rose

Nan told Lilac and me that when we told the Life Stone to take us to the dust, it would glow brighter and brighter until we were there.

"Where do we start in this huge maze of hallways?" Lilac said. "I mean, come on!"

"Now, now," Nan spoke. "If you follow the Stone, it'll make the maze a pathway."

"Exactly, Lilac," I replied. "C'mon. The light gets brighter over here."

We turned left and right as the light of the Life stone got brighter and brighter. I've always wanted to know of my mother. Was she kind and sweet like honey? Was she as rowdy as Lilac when she was younger? I honestly never asked Nan about her, and it never popped into my head until now.

We then suddenly stopped in front of this wooden door when the green glow became blinding.

There was a golden light coming through the bottom of the door, too.

"This must be where Azelea kept her golden dust," Nan said.

Lilac pushed the door, and it creaked open. When it was wide open, my jaw dropped at the amount of dust that was sitting in massive piles on the ground.

"Oh... my... Mystics..." Lilac gasped. "THIS IS INCREDIBLE! I've never seen so much dust in my life!"

"Come on!" I said while gathering some in my bag. "We need to take this to Reese and them quick."

Nan and Lilac poured some dust into their bags. I kept on going and grabbing at more, until my satchel was overflowing with the dust. When we were about to leave, Lilac had an idea to help us not get lost. She poured teleportation dust over us, and we came back to the room we were in.

And all the humans were here with the others.

"You're back!" Alex said. "Come on! We need to wake him up."

We poured the golden dust over Aspen, but he still wasn't waking up.

"No..." Reese said. "Why isn't he waking up?"

"Azelea said something about you who could wake him up," Lilith said. "Go on. You are the Spirit of Life."

Reese walked over to Aspen's body and kneeled down. She looked at him and sighed. Putting her hand over his heart, she focused everything to him.

"Please... wake up," she whispered.

And then this golden light gleamed in her hands.
