Alex
I decided why not sleeping outdoors tonight?
Of course, the threats were mostly gone so why not? I mean, Azelea might come back, but I don't think that she'd bother us at such an impossible time. Besides, with the meadows out, it seems more peaceful. The last time anyone saw a pixie meadow was a few years before the Darkness spread.
Mystics, that seems to long ago.
"Alex?" I heard, "Since when did you start becoming one with nature's soul?"
I turned my head, and I saw my good friend Daring.
"Is that suppose to be a bad pun or something?" I asked, getting sticks in a certain area to light fire.
"Maybe," he replied, "But why are you doing this anyways?"
I dropped the sticks, I had in my mouth, and I turned to him.
"Am I not allowed to let my people have a bit of fun outdoors?" I asked, "Let's see how many times we've been outside for fun. Oh, wait, there are none."
"Brutal."
"Exactly why I want to bring the tribe outside to sleep."
"What if that witch comes to kill us?"
"She won't, Daring. C'mon, brave is in your name."
"Being brave is doing something that you're scared of doing for a good cause; that doesn't mean to be a daredevil."
I rolled my eyes.
"Be a bit more positive on this, please?" I asked, "My little brother hasn't been outside in one thousand years. This might give him a chance to be outside without someone fearing for their pups about being eaten by a small bird."
"You make it seem as if the outdoors isn't dangerous."
"It really isn't. People just think that because they want to be safe, but in reality they're perfectly fine."
Daring just sighed and shook his head.
"Whatever, Alex," he said, "If you really think this is a good idea, I could get Parker."
"Oh, thank you! I was actually gonna asked someone if they could get the tribe."
"Okay. If you say so."
He left with his tail sliding across the enchantingly green grass, and I was setting up the area. We'll have logs around the campfire; we'll have stones around the area, so the forest doesn't catch fire, and we'll have some of the pixies come to listen to our stories. Once I knew I was done, I felt something bite at my ear.
"Sis!" Parker said, "Are we really staying outside?!"
I looked to him as he let go of my ear.
"Yes, Parker," I answered as happily as he was, "We are. We're gonna tell stories of the land before the Darkness, sing campfire songs, and more!"
He started jumping up and down, and he jumped into Daring. Parker fell on his back as Daring started tickling him. Parker's laughter was so joyful that I had to join in.
"Tickle wars!" he shouted as he ran around the area.
"Hey!" Daring said, "You're not getting away so easily!"
As the rest of the tribe came, Daring and I were trying to chase down Parker. We went around in so many circles that we ended up losing my little brother.
"Whew," Daring said laying on the ground, "Forgot how fast that kid can run."
"No kidding," I said, "We should probably get going to the camp."
