Back at school, I was more quiet than usual. During Lunch, Ethan tried to get me talk. I just waved him off, but he ended up sitting next to me.
"You're never like this," he said, trying to make eye contact, "Is it because of that one moment with your Dad?"
That got me to look at him. His eyes were full of sympathy. Something I've never seen from many guys.
"I'll take that as a yes."
I bit my bottom lip, closed my eyes, but said nothing. I felt a light flick on my forehead, so I opened my eyes and saw Val. She placed her tray on my other side and gave me those same eyes of pity.
"Can you guys not give me those eyes, please?" I said with more annoyance in my voice than I intended.
They both leaned back a bit, but they didn't lose those eyes. I then felt a surge of energy go through my hands. They burned, but I ignored that too. I then heard a small gasp. I looked at Valery, and her face was pale. Her hands were to her mouth, and she was looking at my hands. I looked at my hands, and I felt my eyes widen.
They had these color changing lines on them. It looked like those lines that would glow on a robot's body. I pulled my sleeves up and saw that my arms had the same lines over them. I scooted away from Val, I and shoved into Ethan.
"What the- Oh my god..... your arms!" he shouted.
Everyone around us got up and walked towards the wall. I shook my head rapidly, and I got up and took a few steps back. I heard one of the staff members scream. I leaned my hand on the wall, but when I did that, the part I touched disintegrated. I took my hand back, quickly, and I ran out of the cafeteria.
What was I turning into?
