Val and I sat down on the emerald green grass and explained everything to the pixies and Aspen.

From Val being kidnapped, the description of the men, and of my father escaping jail. When I cam to the part about my father, Aspen stopped me.

"Your father," he said, "He..... he is one of the guardians trusted assistants."

"I'm not surprised," I replied, on the verge of tears, "Everything that he's done to me...... It makes sense."

The pixie from before came up to my face and hugged my cheek. Her glow reflected off my pale skin, and I, ever so lightly, hugged her back with my hand.

"As long as you're here, I'm sure you'll be happier," she said, "I promise."

I started to feel my tears fall from my eyes. Her words. They touched my heart like my mother's lullabies.

Mom......

Like she read my mind, Val joined in the hug.

"I'm sure there's something here that'll make it seem like your mom's still alive, Reese," she said.

"Actually," Aspen interrupted, "There is."

I looked up from the comforting hug.

"What do you mean?"

"She was born in the Spirit World, so that means that she has a home here."

"Is it possible to see it?" I asked.

Aspen nodded.

"However, it's very close to being devoured by the Dark side. Are you sure you would like to go?"

I nodded.

"I know a shortcut!" Another pixie in the crowd said.

The pixie that was hugging me groaned.

"Lilac," she said, "You're not coming!"

"Please, Rose!" the squeaky voice said again, "I really do know a quick way!"

"Fine," Rose sighed, "You can come. But only if Nan says it's alright."

"Okay!" and a smaller and a purple version of Rose went zooming across the meadows of flowers, leaving a sparkly trail of this strange power behind her. And also smacking into a tree.

"Ow!" she said.

"What did I tell you not to fly so fast?" Rose shouted.

"Too bad! I'm still gonna fly fast! And no one can stop me!"

A strand of my hair touched the power and it slowly rose in the air. Val engulfed her arm in it, and she began to fly from her arm!

"Uh," she said, "A little help up here, please?"

Aspen chuckled and some pixies flew up and more trails of the powder flew behind them. They pushed Valery's shoulders down and she came slowly to the ground. She dusted the golden sparkles off of her and thanked the pixies.

"What was that stuff, Aspen?" I asked.

"It's the pixies' Pixie Dust," he said, "Without it, the pixies can't fly very well."

"So, where do they get it?"

"It comes from certain plants. Before the Darkness arose, pixies never used to live in such big groups. In fact, the most pixies in a colony would only be about 35. They began to migrate together, as the Darkness took over most of their homes and meadows."
