Rose

No no no no no!

He couldn't have died. That vision of the future was false. He didn't actually die; he couldn't have! I was on the black, green lit ground as I just tried to comprehend what happened. Faux and that wolf friend of Alex... only a Shadow animal could make an explosion like- ....oh. I remember now.

"Rose," Lilac said as her hand reached for my shoulder. I smacked it away as I yelled at her in a furious and cracking voice.

"MYSTICS, LILAC! FAUX JUST PROBABLY DIED OF AN EXPLOSION, AND YOU'RE NOT UPSET BY THE SLIGHTEST BY THAT?! WHAT IS WRONG WITH YOU? I THOUGH-" I was then slapped in the face by her. I shut up and felt the tingling cheek. I looked to my sister, and her eyes were full of sadness and grief.

"Throughout this journey, Rose," she said just barely above a whisper. "I've been through my own guilt, fear, and sadness. What happened to Faux I'm horrified by, yes, but I'm trying to keep my feelings in. We need to hold tight for what is about to happen next."

"Lilac..." I stopped speaking.

As much as I wanted to cry over my friend, as much as I wished that I could just break into tears, she was right. What was the point of crying when there was something ahead of us that we need to be strong about. I looked towards the looming castle as the green clouds shooting lightning above it made me realize what situation we were under.

"You're right. Alex, you okay?" I asked thinking about how she is.

"I'm fine," she said. "Daring is a strong Omega. I'm sure he'll be fine. You?"

"I'll manage." All three of us looked at Reese. Her eyes glowed with this violet radiance, and they made me shiver with fear. She didn't have that friendly vibe she used to have. Instead, it was replaced with hate, anger, and vengeance; they were somewhere else. "Reese?"

"This is one of Azelea's homes," she said abruptly while getting out of her trance

"How can you tell?" Aspen asked.

"My mother told me. Apparently she's the Spirit of Chaos. The golden dust, as mom says, can be transformed into something against it's will. Any dust can be reversed, strengthened, or changed if a Mystic used the right materials."

Just then, screams and yells came from above as humans like Val and Reese flew above us with Shadow animals carrying them. I took a deep breath in as I only knew one thing.

This is what we're up against.

Alex

I didn't know what to feel, really.

I understood how Rose felt, but I just had this feeling within me that said Daring and Faux were gonna be okay. But how she reacted to when the explosion occurred, I don't know what to think for Faux. We went into the dark, stoned castle, and green fire lit the torches.

The color of envy.

"Grody," Reese said abruptly. "He's working with Azelea."

"Who's this Grody?" Valery asked. "I NEED TO KNOW!"

"Calm down, Valery," Autumn said. "This is a serious situation for crying out loud."

"Grody is.... apparently someone from the Guardians. He was one of the people that kidnapped you, Val," Reese answered.

"Wait, what?!" she gasped.

"He has white hair and violet eyes like me. He had this dream of being with... some sort of magical group, but he couldn't get in because someone took his place."

"Is your mother telling you that?" Aspen asked.

Reese nodded, and she turned her head both directions. The two hallways were dimly lit, and the shadows danced and taunted us with fear on the walls. She motioned us to follow her as she went through the hall to our right.

Our steps echoed like there was someone following us and listening to us. I shook with chills running through me. My fur stood up slightly, but I kept on walking alongside everyone. Although I told them not to, my eyes darted back and forth between Rose and what was ahead of me. Her expression seemed emotionless.

It was almost as if she wasn't even there.

Just then, the creaking of a door could be heard, and the steps of high heels clattered along the floor. We all stood our ground, and sparks of magic could be heard. I looked up, and my ear moved to hear the sound of something whizzing over us like the wind. What stood out was the fact that sparks of magic popped out onto the wooden and hollow ceiling.

I nudged Aspen's leg, and his gaze went form me to where I was looking. He squinted and studied the movements of the person. He then softly signal everyone else of the magic above our heads.

"Oh wow," A familiar voice said. "I never thought that I'd see all of you here. I thought- Ah yes. I didn't do that part yet. Though I must say, I was able to get some important people out of the way with that explosion."

My eyes widened when I heard that.

"Azelea," I growled.

The witch gave a cackle and gracefully swooped down in front of us. She was kneeling on the ground with her hands out like a bird, and a wand was still glowing with magic at its tip. Azelea looked up to us with an evil smirk striking her lips. Her silver eyes gleamed with a red glare as the light reflected off of them like glass.

Something you couldn't see yourself in, but you could see through it.

"Well, well, well," she chuckled while hitting her wand in her hand. "It's so nice to see some friendly faces."

I could feel the glares everyone was giving her, but something that stood out was a power source I just was not familiar with. I looked to Reese specifically, and an aura grew around her. Her eyes gave off this violet light, and I was surprised by how... massive the essence was.

"Where are the people of Earth?" Reese commanded. "Where are my brothers?!"

"Oh ho ho, don't be so fast there, little girl. You see your cousin, Grody, is taking care of everything. All that he needs to do is cast a spell to make them his servants, and all will be in his power."

"If you dare touch them-" Reese began.

"Who said I was going to do it? Besides, he did give me a deal that I could have some of the power."

"Why are you here telling us this?" Val asked aggravated. "Aren't there others Grody would share power with?"

"Those men? Ha! They are assistants. They'll be destroyed along with the light of this world. After all, your father is one of them."

I looked to Reese, and her expression changed from ferocious to realization."...What have you come to do to us?" she asked after zoning out a bit. Azelea gave a horrid laugh and replied.

"Foolish Kindling. Be prepared for your doom!"

And with that, Azelea started her battle.
