Aspen
I gasped as air was let into my lungs.
"Aspen!" I heard Reese say as her arms wrapped around me. "Oh thank Mystics, you're okay."
I sat up and hugged her back. I opened my eyes to see the pixies, the people from Earth, and the group surrounding us. These three boys looked at me with confusion, and I noticed two of them looked similar to Reese herself.
"Reese?" I asked. "What's all happened while I was knocked out?"
She pulled back and shook her head. Tears fell from her face as our group came closer. They all smiled and joined the hug.
"My Mystics, Aspen," Autumn said as we pulled back. "You have no clue of what... crazy events you missed."
"Welp," Valery said. "Now... CAN SOMEONE PLEASE TELL US WHAT TO DO WITH SO MANY PEOPLE FROM EARTH?!" We all looked at Val like she was insane. "What? I'm serious. After all of this, how are we suppose to get back to Earth with the Darkness still lurking?"
"I think I know the answer to that," Reese replied.
She held her hand out, and this little golden light shined in her palm. Its aura made me feel like I was home, and I never wanted it to leave. She then looked to me and smiled.
*******
We went back to the meadows as the pixies were planting some sort of Willow and Azalea mix tree next to Jessica. I decided not to ask about it and watched what Reese was about to do.
"You like her, don't you?" Daring asked from behind me.
"Hmm?" I said. "Uh... I... I suppose that's what you would say?"
"C'mon. There's no harm in liking someone. Its a part of nature."
"It's not that I'm ashamed of it." I looked at Reese, and I noticed that she was having some sort of difficulty with something. "One second."
I walked over to her. She was trying to get rid of the Darkness that Azelea had apparently held off. As crazy as that sounded to my ears, I just brushed it off. To be honest, there have been more immense moments in my life that dominated my thoughts.
"What's wrong?" I asked Reese.
"My powers aren't able to rid of this Darkness," she said. "There's something missing to it."
Just then, Lilith came from behind us both.
"You know," she said in her angelic voice. "It's not called the Mystics of the Light for nothing." She went to everyone and gestured them to speak to us. "How about you all try to obliterate this Darkness with your powers."
Reese's eyes lit up with his light, and she began to hold Val's hand. They looked at each other and smiled. Valery then grabbed Alex's paw while she gave her other paw to Lilac. The circle then finished with Rose connecting her hand with her sister's and mine, and my other hand being clasped with Reese's.
I then felt this power flow through me. It was powerful, but the feeling didn't make me greedy over it. I closed my eyes as this glow came from the center of our circle. This wave of energy pushed past us, and I could just feel the air become lighter as the Darkness was washed away.
When I opened my eyes, everything was brighter and more beautiful than I ever saw the Spirit World be.
Reese
You know those bittersweet moments when something good happens, but it's still sad? Well, I was in that predicament. I had to pick between worlds at this point. What was that suppose to mean?
I am a Mystic of two worlds: Spirit World and Earth. With everything being normal, and the times of my worlds being the same, I could either live with all the Spirits but leave my brothers, father, and Val (She was going back), or live my normal life on Earth where no one would remember what happened to them.
If they did remember, who knows what they would think of Val, me, and my family.
"Have you made your decision, Reese?" Mom asked me.
"I... I have," I replied. "I wanted to stay with all my friends here, and I wanted to stay with you... but I think it would be better if I went back."
She nodded. "You made your own choice, and I will not change it. You can still visit us all."
"With my drawing?" I asked.
"Just draw under our tree, and a portal will open when you climb it. Then you'll come back here in Jessica's branches. When you do come to visit, I'll be there to greet you. All of us will."
I hugged my mom. Tears began to form in my eyes as she returned the embrace. I'm going to miss so much of this place. The creatures, my friends, Mom, the beautiful scenery....
"I love you, my sweetheart," she said, kissing my forehead. "Before you go, you should speak with Aspen. He wants to say something to you."
I looked towards him. He hasn't gone in his plant-like form in a while, and it worried me a bit. Was he ashamed of being a who he was? If that was the case, I'm going to him right now.I walked over to Aspen, and he immediately looked up at me with his green eyes. He seemed a bit dazed.
"Are you alright, Aspen?" I asked. "You... haven't changed back."
"Hmm? O-o-oh!" he said, blinking into reality. "I-i-it's just simpler to move around as a human. Besides, I don't like too much attention drawn to me."
"Ha ha ha! I guess it would be pretty funny to see a random tree in the plains," I laughed. "So, you wanted to speak to me about something?"
Aspen's face became redder than a rose. He rubbed the back of his neck and closed his eyes. He looked down and took a deep breath before saying something.
"Reese... I've grown close to you. You're kindness and bravery was something I admired you for. Now.... I think that... I..."
"You what?" I asked, leaning towards his face.
"I...I love you," he answered while becoming more red.
My eyes widened at his statement. I blinked a couple of times, trying to collect what he said. My heart began to beat faster and faster, and I felt myself blush.
"I understand if you don't feel the same way," Aspen then said. "I would understand if you love someone-"
I took the collar of his shirt and pressed my lips to his. I felt his shock as I closed my eyes. He then kissed me back while putting his hand on my cheek. Before I first met everyone here, I thought that I was lost in a torture on Earth. And now that I'm going back, I wouldn't be living that life anymore. However, I was going to dearly miss everyone here.
Aspen pulled back and smiled at me and I fluttered my eyes open. His eyes were filled with joy, sadness, and love. I smiled back at him while placing my hand on his face.
"I'm gonna miss you, Aspen," I said.
"As will I," he replied. "Be sure to visit, alright?"
"Don't worry. I'll be sure to."
I gave him a quick kiss on the cheek before grabbing Valery and using my powers to teleport back into my room; there, my picture of my mother was sitting on my desk.
K.C.T: O....M....G!!!! Yes, I'm back after ages! I'm just still getting used to my usual workplace since I went to another country for a month. I never got to write because the wifi didn't allow me, but I was able to comment on other people's books. I know, I was raging with the lack of writing opportunities. Anyways, There's one last thing to this book, so stay tuned for that. I missed everyone so much. As always, everybody say bai! OOWAY! <3
