"Is this the prize...?"

"Huh?" Hyde shot a dirty look at Yanpu as they walked through the village in the dark.

"The bag?" Yanpu pointed at the gold coins Hyde counted in his hands.

"Sure." Hyde nodded. The three men walked on a path that led back to the hut. It was very peaceful around this time of night. There was a full moon that shone brightly against the streams and rivers connecting to the ocean.

Though it wasn't at all like Itaria, Hyde found some beauty in the sight. The only thing missing was colorful night flowers like the ones back in Piccposto.

"You gonna give me my share?" Harald nudged Hyde by the shoulder as they marched side by side.

"Your share?"

"Yeah, I'm the one who threatened those bozos. Don't I get a cut?"

"You'd better shut your trap if you don't wanna be cut." Hyde fiddled with the handle of the blades in his belt. The threat was meant to be humorous, so Harald only rolled his eyes at the response.

"You're the only guy who makes me work without pay."

"You'll get paid soon enough." Hyde took a deep breath, bringing out the bag of gold coins carefully. He began tossing the bag back and forth like he was juggling.

"All that money is for ship repairs, right?"

Hyde nodded. "Once I buy some batteries I saw in the market, we should be able to get the escape pod running again."

Harald smiled, nodding ahead of them. "We can talk about it later. Look at the Westonian."

Hyde shifted his gaze. In the distance, Harper was in front of the entrance, pacing around frantically. He sighed and shoved the bag of money in his pockets. The last thing he wanted was her asking how he obtained all of the money he collected.

He noticed the pained expression on her face. She would scratch her head, cross her arms, and bite her lips as she went from one side of the home to the next. Her anxious walking only made Hyde feel slightly uneasy.

"She's so ingenuine." Harald shook his head, displeased by her behavior. "She's worried about the boy and probably thinks you took him away. Watch as she blames you."

Hyde balled his fists as they all strolled slowly toward the hut. "Maybe not..."

"Maybe not?" Harald spat.

Hyde observed her closely. The look on her face did seem extremely suspicious. If she would blame him for taking Yanpu away now, how would she react when he planned on telling her that the escape pod they crashed in was fixed?

"You should get rid of her before she causes us any trouble. All we need is the boy."

"Harald," Hyde turned to face him, "You're too noisy. Keep talking, and I'll cut off your tongue."

"Hyde! Yani!" Harper spotted them and ran forward. As expected, the first person she went to was Yanpu. She wanted to check if he was okay. She examined his arms and face for any injuries.

But Hyde and Harald didn't expect her to rush over to them next.

Harper was breathing very hard when she grabbed onto Hyde's arm. "You're not hurt, are you?"

"I'm fine," Hyde dismissed.

"Are you sure?" While her hands were trembling, she parted the opened shirt he wore to examine his scar. She wanted to make sure that it wasn't glowing. Slightly flustered by her act of worrying, Hyde poked her in the head and pushed her away from him.
