A battle broke out as Hyde and the cloaked person fought. Harper couldn't keep track of the movements. Hyde was too fast. The person who attacked them first seemed to be a bit caught off guard by it.

Harper started to freak out. Was it the man who attacked her? Was he back for revenge? Is that why he threw the axe at her?

She couldn't believe that only seconds ago she was mere inches away from a painful death.

As her thoughts ran rapidly, she stood frozen in place. Though Hyde was clearly handling the aggressor, she feared that he would get hurt and his condition would react badly. She was running out of the antidote.

He wouldn't be able to recover in time if the attacker planned on killing all of them. She watched as Hyde's body skidded across the grass.

"Hyde!"

"Don't move!" He commanded her before sprinting toward the cloaked person.

All it took was one good kick to knock the attacker off their feet. A deep grunt came from the ground as Hyde brushed his hair back and pointed the tip of his blade near the hood of the mysterious figure.

"Show off," The person in the cloak's deep voice growled.

"I almost killed you." Hyde spat in response.

"I wanted to test if you'd gotten comfortable."

"Do I look comfortable?"

"At this moment? No." The cloaked being pushed themselves off the grass and let his hood fall back. It was none other than Arnest's and Hyde's Kragite friend who brought them to Itaria a while back.

"You look like you need to have a toss."

"I've had plenty."

"I see." The man waved at Harper with a fake smile. "You've come around quite far. I didn't think you'd settle for someone like her. You were that desperate, weren't you?"

Harper felt like her heart was smashed into millions of pieces. She felt embarrassed and ashamed. She also felt like she wasn't worthy enough. Did Hyde only stay behind because he was desperate?

"Cut the bull, Harald." Hyde snarled. "What took you so long?"

"Everything."

"I'm gonna need a lot more details than that. I still don't have any patience."

"You're aware that by the time I got to Piccposto, the town was full of people. There were a lot of funerals. And there were many Westonian servicemen. I had to lay low for a while."

Harald clasped his hands together, "But hey! I got your letters! After the servicemen left, I finally was able to make my way here. Everything is all good now! Well, almost."

"Almost?"

"Valheyna couldn't send me any supplies because of the situation. I'm out of Puron. And my ship faced some turmoil on the way here. So until I get that fixed, I'm stuck here."

Harper raised a brow at him, confused as to why he spoke in the Kragite language. Hyde, angered by the news, clenched his fists. It would do him no good to fuss about a situation he couldn't control.

"Are you sure you're completely out of Puron?" Hyde mumbled.

"Yep."

"The boy could provide some."

"The boy?"

"His abilities. He can whip up raw organic Puron from the soil." Hyde shrugged.
