"What happened?" Lavender was amused by a hungry Ethan who was devouring his pizza. Like every other male, he took large bites and chewed quickly.

"She called several times but I ignored it," he shrugged, wiping his mouth.

"Great! We're making progress."

Lavender placed her blueberry muffin down and stared at Ethan. It was completely ironic how she was single and always gave positive relationship advice to others.

"What? Do I have something on my face?" he asked with wide eyes, wiping his hand over his face like a lunatic.

"Nope," Lavender snickered at his reaction.

He took another huge large bite from his pizza. "Que pasa?"

"Why bother trying this if talking didn't help?" Lavender made invisible circles around them to elaborate. "Yes. I get the part where she deserves a second chance but even to this extent?"

"I don't know. I thought why don't I give her something to get mad about? Now here we are. Maybe it'll be worth it. Maybe not."

"But did you tell her how you really feel about her?"

Lavender stopped trying to convince him that maybe this whole thing was a waste of time. That if Sandra really loved him, she wouldn't have done what she did.

Heck, if Sandra loved herself, she wouldn't have stooped so low to get back at him--for something he didn't do.

"Like go heart to heart with her?"

Ethan began to slowly chew his pizza, his eyes falling to his hands. He seemed startled by the question.

"Ethan, it hurts to love someone and not be loved in return. But what is more painful is to love someone and never find the courage to let them know how you feel. Stop being a dick, Martinez. You're already fighting for someone who probably doesn't love you back. But who knows maybe--just maybe your relationship would work out."

He didn't bother coming up with anything to say, but she knew he heard what she said.

"Excuse me," Lavender said, giving him time to think on her words. Ethan nodded, still not looking at her.

Lavender saw Sandra enter the bathroom a few minutes ago and she never came back out.

As Lavender neared she heard someone whimpering. The first bathroom stall was slightly cracked open, so she pushed it open. There sitting on the toilet seat filled with toilet paper was Sandra, drowning in her own tears. Her shoulders shook violently.

How pathetic, Lavender thought with an annoyed scoff.

Instead of asking Sandra the reason behind her tears, Lavender decided to rub salt exactly where it hurt. If it even hurt to begin with.

"He is such a gem. How did you manage to let him go?" Lavender did all the batting eyelashes, the dreamy swirls across the floor, and the cheesy wide grin. The whole theatrical acts.

"I caught him cheating on me."

"Did you allow him to explain what really happened?" Lavender cut her act to peer at Sandra deep in the eyes. Sandra sniffled, wiping the clear snot from her nose with the inside of her long sleeve shirt.

"I didn't have to. What I saw was clearly enough evidence. I can't believe that I loved him and I still do." Sandra rubbed her eyes, standing up and taking deep breathes to calm herself.

Lavender halted. "Wait, you love him?"

"Of course, I love him!"

"Do you really and truly love him?"
