Waking up with a killer headache and swollen eyes were the results of Lavender crying all night. It was possible that she had ruined one of the most important relationships in her life, all because of a stupid decision her father made.
Lavender shook her head, regretting it soon after. The pain was unbearable.
There was no need to blame anyone for her ridiculous choice of lying to her best friend. She had to take responsibility for her own actions.
Maybe if her father hadn't left, she wouldn't have met Liam in the first place. She probably wouldn't have even ended up in college.
At least, there was some good in the bad. Well, she hoped that she hadn't lost the first of the two.
The sudden notification tone from her phone stole her attention. She crawled across the bed, opening the message with confusion.

Lavender tossed the phone on the nightstand, not bothering to reply. It was too early to entertain Damien, besides she had bigger problems.
Her stomach growled, reminding her that she hadn't eaten since around midday the day before. She glanced at the untouched Chinese food. It was no use eating if she felt so unsettled.
After washing her face and brushing her teeth, she dragged herself to the kitchen for some water. She purposely hit her head against the refrigerator, worsening her headache.
Stupid. Stupid. Stupid.
Something told her to turn and when she did, she saw Liam staring at her but when their eyes meet he quickly looked down, pretending to be occupied on his phone.
Too caught up in her thoughts, Lavender had not noticed Liam sprawled on the couch before. He was ignoring her.
"Lele, please don't stay mad at me." She didn't care about how desperate she sounded.
It took him long enough to sigh in defeat. At first, when he raised his head up to look at Lavender, his face was void of any emotion and then he seemed concerned.
