Damien was shaking his feet against the stool for the past thirty-five minutes. With each strategy he formulated in his mind to get Lavender, he grew more enraged at the fact that he didn't know exactly where to find her.She could be anywhere.
Damien slammed the counter in both annoyance and anger. "FUCK."
"D, calm down," Jacob sighed.
"Gustave is dead and my girlfriend is missing. Do you seriously expect me to be calm?"
"Son-" Sophia began, but Damien's glare made her swallow her words quicker than she could blink. Ever since her visit after witnessing the lifeless gateman while she was leaving, she hadn't left their side yet.
"The mother wants to protect her sons now that they're capable of taking care of themselves. How ironic. Where were you when I really needed protection? Huh, mom?"
Damien deliberately dragged the word mom, the word bitter between his lips and heavy on his tongue.
He appreciated the concern from her but seeing her trying to use up her role that had already expired long ago only irritated him more.
"We get it. You're angry but you seriously need to chill. Don't put your frustration out on your brother.....or Sophia. You know he's just worried about you. And Sophia is still your mother," Shavon bluntly stated.
Shavon tapped his finger on his chin, standing in front of the open refrigerator. "Mhmm now, what do I want?"
Damien ran his hand over his face with a sigh, not even glancing at his mother. "Sorry, Jake. Every time I think I've got her, she goes missing. It's been two long weeks. What if-"
Kalif abruptly cut him off. "No, don't think like that. The real question is, why aren't these cops able to find her?"
Angelo walked in with a black duffel bag, dropping it on the ground. It was filled with weapons. Sophia stared at them wide eyed, her eyes judgemental.
Angelo began checking to see if there was enough ammo in the guns. "If it's who I think has her, the cops won't be able to help. Did Lavender have on her necklace that day?"
Damien perked up in curiosity. "The one you gave her? Yeah, she never takes it off. Why?"
"Okay, good. That day when I took it from her. I placed a tracker in it which should've been done long ago. Liam, can you locate her?"
Liam nodded, turning on his laptop and connected Angelo's phone to his laptop. "Got it."
"Wow, that was less than a minute," Jacob said in awe.
Shavon finally opted for a Gatorade and tapped Angelo harder on the back than necessary. "Seriously, old man? It took you two weeks to remember this very important detail?"
"Not now, Von. Where's my girl?" Damien practically begged.
Liam peered closely at the screen. "Seems to be in an old library. It's been abandoned for years."
"How cliché," Shavon muttered with an eye roll.
Without a second thought, Damien was up and ready to leave.
"You need a plan." Liam stopped him. "Whoever kidnapped my best friend isn't some petty kidnapper. If they were then Lavender wouldn't be in that predicament in the first place. This whole thing...I don't know, man. It feels meticulously orchestrated."
"That's because it is. Isaac Ryder has been trying to tear my family down for far too long. It's about time I put an end to this," Angelo said.
Sophia's knees buckled and Jacob held her for support. They were both horrified by the revelation.
