In the short spam of what happened last night, Damien seemed protective of Lavender. He held her close the whole time he walked her home, his eyes everywhere.

He brought her inside the house and even tucked her in bed. Lavender found that quite bold of him to just come uninvited, but Damien was a bold person. He left when he was sure that she was safe.

Bright and early Lavender was about to get up, but was stopped by someone's nose nuzzled in her neck. She didn't bother putting Liam's name in her wild guesses of who-might-he-be, because as close as they were, they never slept in that compromising position.

They never slept on the same bed period.

Lavender looked at her unpacked boxes on the ground, confirming that she was in her new room. She painfully tilted her head, only to see that the person was Damien.

She flicked his ear, trying to peel his fingers off of her but his hold around her was too strong. Instead of waking up, he wiggled his ears with a feathered kiss on her shoulder.

She wanted to laugh at his silliness, but laughing would make him think that it was okay to sleep with her. She pinched his nose this time and his eyes snapped open.

"Damien, I thought you left. Why are you still here?"

Damien gently moved her hands from his nose. "I did but then I came back for my phone but last night--you were," he stopped and shook his head. "Never mind...I'll tell you later."

He slid off the bed and exited the room, not giving Lavender a chance to react. She gritted her teeth, clenching her fist. She hated being in the dark.

Lavender walked into the living room freshly showered with a yawn. What she saw next stopped her in her tracks. Damien was sitting comfortably with a bottle of water and toast in his hand, having an interesting conversation with Liam. She didn't hear much, because they stopped when they noticed her.

"What's going on here?" She took the half eaten toast from Damien, getting the cup of mint tea Liam was handing to her.

"Good morning to you too, Lav," Liam brightly smiled.

"Yeah, yeah," she answered in annoyance. "Morning, Lele. Now answer me."

"Nothing. Damien is coming with you to drop me off at the airport." Liam silently added a, 'He's moving fast. I like him.' by winking and widening his smile large enough to tear the seams of his mouth.

Lavender sharply bit into the toast she took from Damien, letting Liam know that she was against it. "The hell he ain't."

"Darling, I'm your boyfriend. Let me be there for you." Damien's voice was like butter as he enjoyed the game more than Lavender.

Throughout the car ride to the airport, Liam kept giving Lavender sneaky looks but Damien's attention was too deep into his phone to notice anything.

Lavender was in the passenger seat, so it was easy for her to reach over to Liam and pinch him.

"Hey! I'm driving, but if you wanna die today then keep pinching me," he would laugh.

Lavender pushed her seat back, not before she took an angry glance at Damien and closed her eyes. That didn't last long, because she felt a nudge from Liam.

"Don't do that 'cause the last time ya did...you know," Liam told her.

Yes, she remembered. She glanced over at Liam, grateful to God that it all ended well.

The ride to the airport felt short, maybe because Liam and Lavender kept joking about any and everything.

Liam and Damien exchanged a few words away from Lavender. Liam wasn't grinning. In fact, he was way too serious for Lavender's liking. At the end of their little secret talk, they nodded at each other as if they just signed off a contract with the devil.

Liam walked over to Lavender, his grin returning. "I know all about your Robin Hood adventure with Captain America over there, but what did you two do when he came back last night?"

Lavender knew he was going to ask that question sooner or later. Liam decided sooner meant better.

"Nothing," Lavender answered with a scowl. "I can't believe you let him come back."

Raising his hands in surrender, he shrugged innocently. "Like he said, he is your boyfriend. I can't deprive the man of his duty."

"Wow, Lele."

"Don't wow me. Just be careful but I'm sure you will, seeing as you've been playing superhero lately."

"I told you my dad trained me when I was younger."

"Well, still be careful and take advantage of that macho jumbo as much as you can. And I'm talking about his body and not his wallet or watch or whatever it is that you steal. Wait, if you already stole his common sense, then give it back to him so that he can take off that jacket. I don't know how he's functioning, it's hot as hell."

Lavender laughed as Liam's fanned himself with his tongue out. "Last time I checked my best friend is a boy. Keep it that way."

Liam swayed his hips from side to side, whipping his fake long hair over his shoulders. He sighed in a girly way, raising his voice to somewhat match hers.

"Sweetie, I'm the full package. By the way, I have to know what's going on when I'm gone. You know I like to gossip and-" he paused and stopped the girly act he was performing.

His voice returned to normal, his voice dropping an octave lower when he said man. "I'm not a boy. I am a man."

"Yeah right."

"Listen here, do not use my bed 'cause it's already reserved."

Lavender eyes grew wide at his words. "You pig! Don't count on it, asshole."

After laughing at her reaction, he wrapped his arms around Lavender's shoulders and kissed her forehead. Liam gave her a brotherly warning, chuckling at Lavender's fake gasp. "Behave and be careful, Lavvy."

"You make it sound as if I'm unruly."

"Behave and be careful, Lavvy," he repeated, this time serious. She gave him an innocent smile, with a mischievous glint in her dark brown eyes.

"You know me, Lele. I wouldn't do anything I wouldn't do."
