CASEY STIRRED AWAKE UNDER the thin blanket, the light blue glow from the lights as the morning cycle began the only thing to illuminate the room. Her hand reached out beside her instinctively to cling to the closest warm body but came up empty at the space beside her. Her fingers curled into a fist before she shifted, arms, legs, and body stretching her out of the coil she had shrunk herself into during the night. Her eyes slowly opened, taking time to adjust and find the figure sitting on the edge of the bed.
⠀⠀⠀"You're up early," Casey murmured, her voice still groggy as she pulled herself up to lean against the headrest.
⠀⠀⠀Bellamy glanced at her with a smirk. His eyes were the same as whey there on the ground, maybe a little older, definitely a lot wiser. Along his chin and up his cheeks was a thick, dark beard that had turned his sharp yet youthful face into the features of a man she had grown to love far beyond anything her younger self could ever imagine.
