HOT WATER SCALDED OVER Casey's scalp and down her back. Her left hand was already beginning to turn a bright pink after running it through her hair half a dozen times while keeping her right hand out of the water. The heat was the only way to get her head on straight after the events of the previous night.
⠀⠀⠀Her vision flashed to her and Raven's conversation, where they had essentially broken up, or in kinder words, taken a break from their relationship. Between that and everything she said about her family, Casey was heartbroken and exhausted. She climbed into bed and wished for sleep to claim her quickly for once.
⠀⠀⠀Then, as her eyes grew heavy, a knock sounded at the door. Casey tried to ignore it, but they became more persistent. She stood and opened the door to find none other than Raven.
⠀⠀⠀"Before you say anything," Raven said quickly, before Casey could close the door in her face. "I just wanted to apologize for earlier. I was just... I was in so much pain and I took it out on you. I shouldn't have."
