THE GROUNDERS ARRIVED IN the morning, sitting on war horses as they demanded for Pike to turn himself over. If he didn't, the twelve armies of the coalition would surround them and effectively wipe Skaikru out. Pike had denied them their last route to peace, and started an all out war.
⠀⠀⠀Now Casey sat between Harper and Bellamy—both recently recruited for their cause—and across from Miller and Kane. The radio sat between the five of them on the table. They had snuck through the halls and to this abandoned room far from anyone else when Pike announced for his team to join him for a meeting.
⠀⠀⠀"Our lookouts confirm another three encampments just over that ridge," Rian said over the radio, her voice tinny through the speakers.
⠀⠀⠀"Well, they're not hiding from us. That's for sure," Pike said. "How many days can we keep our population fed without being able to send out hunting parties?"
