BELLAMY AND SELENE WERE in the room with the computer overlooking the Eye. Selene didn't sleep for more than a few hours, and Bellamy was bright-eyed as soon as he realized neither would be going back to sleep. So, he'd found Monty and sent him off to get some sleep while he took the next watch. The bunker had little to entertain an eight-year-old, but it was surprisingly stocked with books from the old world. Selene relied on digital media when they were on the Ring, so having something tangible she could flip through kept her entertained for a lot longer.
⠀⠀⠀After a few hours, Harper entered the room with a furrowed brow. Silently, she asked if anything had changed. Bellamy sighed, shaking his head.
⠀⠀⠀"It's been hours. Raven could have built a cathedral by now," Bellamy said.
⠀⠀⠀"I know," Harper said, joining him at the table.
⠀⠀⠀"I just wish it was me over there," he muttered, bowing his head, guilty even in saying it. But the waiting was what killed him. When he and Octavia went to the ground, they had no one waiting on the Ark to find out if they had survived. But he had known many of those kids, including Casey and Murphy, had someone. This felt like punishment for all he had done in those early days.
