CASEY COULDN'T KEEP HER eyes off Selene, duct duck taped into a spare suit to keep her from swimming inside of it. She sat on Bellamy's lap, his arms worked around her like restraints so she wasn't floating around in the pod. Despite the tension blooming in Casey's head, Selene had a wide smile on her face as she got to experience something so new and exciting.
⠀⠀⠀Halfway out, Bellamy even let Selene slip from his grip and do a flip in the air, laughing wildly in her excitement. The sound was sweet, and everyone else seemed amused by it, but Casey could feel the bile rising to her throat. Bellamy pulled Selene back to him, glanced at Casey, and smiled softly.
⠀⠀⠀Casey had trouble returning it, feeling herself slipping back into her old ways. She still had her days, but her OCD wasn't as exasperating on her day-to-day as it had been on the ground. Now, her fingers tapped against her leg, numbers spun in her head, and she worried herself into a spiral that they'd find a war down below with whoever or whatever had gone down in the transport ship.
