As I walk through the endless hallway of the school, my mind runs through what happened yesterday. The moment Zayn's car sped off really tested my feelings. Jenny was trying so hard to cheer me up and even wanted to accompany me to walk me back home even though her house is at the opposite side of the street. But I turn down her offer and just walk home alone.

All the way home, all I felt was numb. I don't even know whether to feel heartbroken or something. Because there's no point in me feeling that way because he's not mine to begin with. He's just my best friend. That's it. So why were my tears flowing down all the way from school to my house without me realizing it until I felt the wet trail on my cheek. I couldn't even sleep yesterday. Every time I shut my eyes, I kept picturing them together. So in the end, I just toss and turn until 5 in the morning, where I couldn't bother to sleep anymore and get ready to school slowly.

As I reach my locker and putting some things away, I heard my name being called. "Lucky!" I turn to find Jenny behind me with an unfamiliar guy. Jenny is smiling brightly at me and all I can do is returned her smile half-heartedly. She gave me one of her famous hug and whispered, "You're okay?" I just nodded. We pull apart and I can see the concern showing in her eyes.

She turn to look at the guy next to her, "Alex, I want you to meet my bestest best friend ever, Lucky!" This guy, whose name is Alex, gave me a lopsided smile and extend his hand, " Hi Lucky. My name's Alex Gaskarth." I shook his hand and gave myself a scan through of him.

Alex Gaskarth is quite tall, like 6 ft almost like Zayn's. He has very layered hair with a long fringe but not too long that covers his eyes. They were in a mixture colour of different shades of brown with some hint of red and styled in a messy bed head way that suits him well. Big brown eyes and not to forget his big thick eyebrows. He's not that tan but has some colour to it so he doesn't look pale. He has some facial stubble spread above his upper lip to his chin. His lips are tinted with a natural pink colour and overall his face is long. He is wearing a simple black shirt with a saying that says "Cancer is a Dick" and denim jeans with combat boots. His messenger bag hung on one of his shoulder. He looks like he could belong in a pop punk band.

Overall, he looks very sexy.

"Done checking me out?" He raised one of his thick eyebrows at me. I blushed deep red and look down. Jenny chuckled right in front of me. If not because the presence of Alex, I would have strangle her on the spot. I clear my throat and look up at him smiling his cute lopsided smile at me. Wait, cute?

"So...um... Alex. I have never seen you here before." I casually ask as we walk slowly to a nearby bench. By now, not much students have arrived in school. Well, maybe it's because it's only 6.30 in the morning and school starts for another hour.

"Just transfer here." He replied.

"Yeah." Jenny cut in. "I was told yesterday that there's a new student here and I was assigned to help him get comfortable in the school." Jenny is a part of the student council and also a part of the welcome committee. So any new student comes in, she's the one to introduce that person around. I nodded and casually look around my surroundings. There's a few students walking around, just lazing outside, taking in as much sun as they could get before been stuck back inside. And I don't blame them. It seems that it's such a nice day to be outside. It always seems that whenever we have school, it will always be a beautiful day outside. Mother Nature purposely punishes us. All of a sudden, I felt something brushed at the side of my face. I turn back find that it was Alex's fingers that brushed along my face.

"Sorry." He pulled back his hand. "There's a strand of your hand that really irritates me." I  blushed deeply and take a several breaths to calm my heart that’s beating fast. From the corner of my eye, I can see Jenny smiling mischievously at me.
