I felt something hit my face, snapping me out of my thoughts. My eyes went down to the small paper ball that was thrown at me and look up to the culprit. Jenny sent me a ‘pay attention’ look, making me roll my eyes. Such a nerd. I reach down to grab the paper and threw it back at her without the teacher looking. Hearing her gasp in shock spreads a satisfied smirk across my face.

Success.

“Ugh… I could just die inside that class. Was so boring!” Jenny whined next to me, our footsteps heading towards the cafeteria room.

“Really? If I recalled back, you were so eager writing down the notes and was the first person to hand in the assignment worksheet.” I teased. She playfully hit my shoulder.

“I just want to be on the good side of Mr Handerson.” I rolled my eyes. Yeah, right. We grab our trays and food before heading to our usual table. Minutes into our lunch time, Alex came in and walk straight to our table.

“Ladies.” He greeted. “I have something special for you today.” Both Jenny and I look at each other with our eyebrows raised. He opened up his bag and took out a plastic container.  He opened up the lid and immediately my nose was hit by a delicious scent. I immediately forgot about my stale pizza and focus on the mysterious food inside the container. “Jack and I decided to make some cupcakes.”

“Cupcakes?” Jenny questioned. “Why?” Alex just shrugs his shoulders.

“We were bored one day. Try it.” He pushes the container towards us. Jenny and I hesitate to take it. I mean, yeah it looks good and the smell is mouth-watering but two guys doing this without any experience is something you want to be careful with. Jenny took out one and so did I. We bit into the soft cupcake in our mouth and after a few seconds, we both moaned. This is so good. The flavour just dance around my taste buds. The texture is not too moist or too soft. It’s just right. Who would have thought that 2 teenage guys knowing their way around the kitchen.

“This is amaaazing…” Jenny commented. I just nodded in agreement, sinking my teeth into the food.

“Glad you like them. There’s more.”

“How did you make this? I’m amazed at your baking skills. You and Jack, both.” I said. He started scratching the back of his neck and let out a nervous chuckle.

“Yeah, well… It was actually my mom. She just told us what to do and we just follow her instructions.” We stopped eating.

“Wait, so it was your mom?” Jenny asked.

“Yeah, but Jack and I did all the work.” He pointed out. I just shook my head. I take everything back.

“Oooo, cupcakes!” We all look up towards the voice. Sally. “Can I have some?” Alex smile and push the container to her. Zayn stood behind her and just look at the container with a bored look. She eats a piece of the food and moan just like how Jenny and I just did. “This is so good, Alex! Did you make this?”

“Yeah, me and my close bud did.” He answered.

“Well, technically his mom just told him what to do.” I added. Alex lightly taps my hand.

“Hey, some things are meant to be kept quiet.” He playfully glares at me.

“Well, whatever it is, this is damn good.” Alex widely smiles a satisfied grin. “Babe, try some.” Sally turn around to give some to Zayn. She feed him a piece of it inside his mouth and he smile, nodding his head. Seeing her feeding him, makes me let out a sigh. I wish I could do that. I felt a warm hand gripped my own softly. I turned my attention towards the guy sitting in front of me.
