(Warning short chapter)
“Argh! Shut up!” I plopped the pillow on my face, trying to cover the sound of my annoying ringtone. Finally after a few seconds it stopped. I breathe a sigh of relief. But then the ringing starts again making me groan. I sit back up to grab my phone. Zayn’s face shown on the phone screen and I grimaced. I denied his call and switch off the phone. Ahh, sweet bliss of silence.
I plopped myself back on the bed and let my mind wandered as I stared at the ceiling. Zayn has been calling me for the past 2 days since the incident at the bleachers. But of course, I ignored him. I couldn’t bring myself to talk to him. I’m still hurt by his actions so he won’t be getting any forgiveness for me any time soon. As for Alex, I’ve been trying to contact with him. I clearly understand how Zayn’s feeling right now, having his calls rejected. I sent Alex so many messages and missed calls but no response from him. I sighed. I really missed him.
Miss his lopsided smile.
Miss his messy hair.
Miss his lame jokes.
And most of all, I miss his big chocolate eyes.
I sighed again.
An idea popped in my head and gathered myself up to get ready. I looked at myself in the mirror and decided I just wear whatever I’m wearing. Jeans, white shirt and combat boots. My face is makeup-free so I go grab my big nerd glasses to cover my flaws. What to do when you are insecure, right? I grab my leather jacket and quickly went out of the house.
I walk towards my destination and stops right in front of a familiar house. I took a huge breath and gather every courage I had and walk towards the front door. I hesitantly knocked a few times and impatiently wait. The door swung open and there stood the guy that I have been trying to see for the last couple of days. The look of shock crossed his face as his eyes falls on me. “W-what are doing here?” He asked. I didn’t say anything as I took a few steps closer to him, closing the distance. I look up at him as he kept his gaze on me. I can feel his warm breath blowing on me. I run my tongue along my lips before taking the risk. I sealed the gap and melted my lips with his. The sound of him sucking in a huge breath lifted the corner of my lips as my hands goes to his hair. His hands cupped my jaw and his thumbs caressed softly on my cheeks.
I can taste a hint of coffee in him, making me kiss him deeper. Even though I started the kiss but he was leading the way, which I happily followed. I felt his tongue run across my bottom lip asking for permission so I opened my mouth and let our tongues explore each other until I could see stars. His hands went down my waist and he pulls me closer, if that’s possible. I couldn’t stop my heart from pounding in my chest and I could feel my face getting redder every second. My hands travelled down to his chest and I can feel his heart pounding the same speed as mine under my palms.
Finally after what felt like an eternity, we parted to catch our breaths. We rest on each other’s forehead and take in as much air as we can get. Alex runs his tongue over his lips, making my eyes focused on it. His lips were a little swollen from the kissing. I bit my bottom lip as my eyes looked up to him. His eyes sparkled when he looks down on me. Those chocolate swirls coloured his eyes that I missed so much and now, they are right in front of me.
“What was that?” He whispered, breaking the silence.
“Because,” I smiled, thinking of my answer. “I missed you. And I’m sorry.”
He smiled and runs his thumb across my jaw. His hand went up and gently take off my glasses. “Better. I can see your eyes more.”
“I’m not wearing anything on my face.”
“Well, you’re looking better than you're wearing any makeup.” I rolled my eyes at his cheesiness but can’t help that I was touched by his words. “I’m sorry for ignoring your calls and texts. I need sometime alone.” I shook my head.
“It’s my fault. Sorry you had to see that.” I said, referring to the bleachers incident. “Zayn kinda…” My words trailed.
“It’s okay. So what now?” He lifted his head and brushed off my hair behind my ears.
“Well, we will see how this goes.” He widened his smile.
His lopsided smile.
“Are you saying what I’m thinking?” He playfully asked. I nodded, making his eyes widened. “Are you serious?!” His mouth dropped opened. I giggled because he looks like a little boy finally getting the toy he wanted. I nodded again. He pulled me into a hug and even spins me round. I shriek in delight and begged him to stop. He finally let go of me and look at me.
Looking back at him, I couldn’t help but feel my own lips curl up. I found my happiness right in front of me and I’m not planning of letting him go.
