The clanging of the bowling pins hitting one another can be heard the minute we step inside the bowling place and "What The Hell" by Arvil Lavigne is been played in the background. We headed towards the counter to choose our bowling shoes. Of course, being the gentleman that he is, Alex volunteer to pay but being the stubborn that I am, I argued with him. After much argument, he won the battle and happily paid the bored-looking guy behind the counter, while I stood there, sulking and crossing my arms. I hate losing. “Come on, Lucky.” Alex pleaded. “I thought all girls like it when the guy pays for everything.”

“Well, I’m not like most girls.” I pointed out.

“That’s right.” He agreed. “You’re special.” He whispered and ended it with a smile on his face to show he really meant what he said. Couldn’t fight the smile forming on my face, I just rolled my eyes and grab the rented bowling shoes off the counter and walked over to one of the bowling lanes. “How about we make this game a little interesting?” He suggested, while both of us were putting on the shoes. My eyes perked up, knowing where this is going.

“And how so?” I asked, a playful smirk plastered already on my face.

“Let’s make a bet. Winner gets what he or she was the loser to do.” He challenged.

“Okay.” I agreed. “If I win, I want you to piggyback me in school anywhere I go for a week.” I crossed my arms, satisfied with myself. He chuckled and nodded.

“Okay. But if I win, you will have to give me a kiss for a week anytime I want.” He smirked. I narrowed my eyes at him. Flirt, I thought. I nodded and stood out my hand and he shook it. “Be prepared to lose, McGowan.” He playfully threatened.

“Not on my watch, Gaskarth.” I replied back as I took the bowling ball of my choice. Let the games begin!

Soon, our games begin after we enter our names inside the machine. Let’s just say, it got a little intense as we tend to rub into each other’s faces each time any one of us gets a strike. I will from time to time, jump excitedly and pointed to Alex and started boasting about my talents while he will show off his biceps and kiss it and dust off imaginary dusts on his shoulder, in attempt to show that it was a piece of cake. An hour later, we have our last turn, and it was neck to neck. I stood up and grab my bowling ball but not before turning around to face him. “Get ready for a week of pain, Alex.” I confidently said.

“Not a chance, Lucky.” He smirked, crossed his arms and gets himself comfortable on the chair. I turned back around and position myself to get ready. I aimed my hand that is holding the ball at an angle right in the middle so that it will hit all the pins. As confident as I look, my heart was pounding on the inside. I will embarrass myself if I lose. Even though I will just have to kiss him, but I’m more worried about my pride being crush so I have to win. Guess, my competitive side is taking control of me. My eyes are already targeted right at the pins and eyeing them deadly.

I pulled back my arm and took a couple of steps forward before swinging my arm forward, releasing the ball. The ball rolled at the perfect angle that I wanted to. My eyes fixated to the ball until it reached the pins. Beads of sweat roll down at the side of my forehead but I couldn’t be bothered to wipe it away. As soon as the ball hit the pins, every single one of them knocked over one another, leaving none left standing. I smirked and raised both my hands up in victory and spin around to face Alex.

“Did you see that?! Woo hoo! I am so going to win!” I jumped several times before settling back to my seat. Alex just shook his head and grabs his bowling ball and positioned himself. I finally get to relax myself and wiped away my sweaty forehead. I took a huge gulp on my bottle of coke that I bought halfway through our game.
