“This is so exciting! I have never ever seen a band rehearse! Never, girl, never!!!” I laughed at Jenny’s reaction. Never had I’ve seen this girl been so excited before, well except when she met one of her favourite bands, Black Veil Brides, in person and gotten hugs from every single one of the members, including a kiss on the cheek from their guitarist, Ashley Purdy. (He’s a guy, by the way.) Alex looked back and smile at her.

“Your excitement is contagious, Jenny. Suddenly I, myself, feel so excited to go for band practice.” His eyes travelled to mine and I smile at him.  Ever since we left Starbucks, we got a little awkwardness around us but it went away as soon as Jenny arrives. It will be a lie if I were to say, I didn’t feel anything when Alex said those words. It was cheesy but even the toughest girl can be swoon by them. And I almost forget about Zayn but he came back to my mind. I’m still clueless as to why he doesn’t tell me straight out that he is just meeting Sally. He didn’t need to lie to me. Okay, he didn’t technically lie to me, he just didn’t specify the details. The VERY IMPORTANT details. I mean, it’s not like I’m going to scold him or not let him go. Maybe, he doesn’t want to hurt me seeming as he left me to go and join Sally. Okay, that sent a “pang” in my heart. That could be his reason. He doesn’t want me to feel hurt that he had to leave me halfway. Right?

I’m just trying to make myself feel better here.

“We’re here!” My train of thoughts cut short and I look up to see a nice looking house with a swing at the porch. The house is quite big and painted coral colour all around. There’s a small pond at the side and I’m pretty sure the rocky pathway leads to a garden.

“Wow, nice home.” Jenny commented. I nodded, agreeing to what she said.

“Yeah. This is Jack’s house. The guitarist in my band. Come one.” He knocked on the door, with both of us behind him. The door opens to reveal a middle-aged woman with a bob haircut. Her face wrinkles due to old age but still have a wide smile plastered on her face.

“Alex, my dear. It’s so nice to see you.” She gave Alex a big bear hug, almost squeezing him alive. You can tell how close they are. After releasing her death grip from Alex, she looked at both Jenny and I. “And, oh my, Alex. I didn’t know you were a pimp.” Jenny burst out laughing while I just look down, trying to cover my blushing face. Alex just stood there nervously chuckling.

“I’m Jenny and this is my best friend, Lucky.”

“You girls look beautiful. One of you must be Alex’s girlfriend.”

“Oh, that will be Lucky.”

“Jenny!” I exclaimed. My eyes widens, hearing what she just said. She giggled and look down while Alex was just scratching at the back of his neck, nervously.

“Oh, I’m sorry,Lucky. She isn’t Alex’s girlfriend…yet.” I shot her a death stare which she just ignored.

“You girls are too cute. I’m Mrs Barakat but just call me Joyce. Please come on in. Alex, Jack is in the basement with the rest.”

“Thanks Joyce.” He said and entered the house with Mrs Barakat holding the door wide open. After we walked passed her, she said to us, “If you girls need anything, just come up to the kitchen. I will be here. I know how being around boys can be.” She gave us a wink which set both of us laughing.

Alex opened the door of the basement and we can hear the sounds of drums and guitar being played. “And the singer has arrived!”

“ALEEEEEEEEX!!!” We heard a long shout and suddenly, stood in front of us is a tall guy, same height as Alex, with very spiky hair and has a touch of blonde in his dark hair. Bushy eyebrows just like Alex’s with big eyes and nose. A stubble had spread around his chin and a smirk plastered on his face. “Well, hello there.”
