“Hello Lucky.” I turn around upon hearing my name. A ghost of a smile decorated on Zayn’s face, making my own lips tilted upwards. He reached out his hand towards me, beckoning me to reach it. I move forward, taking baby steps towards him. But strangely every step that I took, I’m not coming closer to him. Instead, I’m much farther away from him. My eyebrows pulled together in confusion and panic.

What’s going on?

I looked up to Zayn. His hand is still reached out. “Come here, Lucky.” I nodded and took bigger steps. But again, he becomes further away from him.

“Z...Zayn, what’s going on?” I stuttered. “Why can’t I come to you?”

“Come on, Lucky.” Him, calling out for me.

“I’m trying, Zayn!” My voice trembled with fear. I started running. My breathing becoming short.

“Lucky!” His voice becoming softer as I tried to run faster. Suddenly a bright light shone in front of me, making me stop short to protect my eyes from the too-bright light. Suddenly, I was surrounded with darkness.

No sound.

My eyes tried to adjust to the dark.

“Lucky?” I turned around. I gasped and quickly run towards him.

“Alex!” I gasped his name, clutching on to him, like my life depended on him. “I’m scared, Alex. Like what’s going on? A few seconds ago, Zayn disappeared. I tried to go to him but he was so far away!”

“What are you talking about?” I tensed, hearing that familiar voice. I pulled away. “I’m right here.”

My eyes met Zayn’s hazel eyes. I stepped back, my legs trembling. My heart beating hard, increasing the panic feeling inside of me. What’s going on? Zayn has his arms open wide, inviting me.

“Where are you going, Lucky? I’m right here.” My body starts trembling from head to toe and I was shaking my head. No! I shut my eyelids, hoping he will go away.

“Open your eyes.” In shock, I opened my eyes. It was Alex, now, standing in front of me. He was wearing the same thing that Zayn was wearing a few seconds ago. “Where are you going?” He repeated the same question. I kept going backwards until I hit a wall.

Or that’s what I thought.

I turn to face with someone’s chest. “Hello, love.” I gasped and quickly move away. Zayn and Alex stand in front of me. My eyes moved from both of them.

“It’s time to choose, Lucky. You can’t have both of us.” They said it together. Repeating them over and over again. Becoming louder after every sentence. I cover my ears, trying to block the deafening sound.

“STOP!!!”

I gasped. My breath coming out in short puffs. My hair sticking to my face, due to the sweat pouring down the side of my face. It was a dream. It was just a dream.

I rubbed my face and took a few minutes to calm myself.

That was such a weird dream. But it seems so real. Is it a sign?

“Here.” I lazily gave the cup of caffeine to Jenny. My eyes glanced at the clock placed on the wall. Only 5 more hours till my shift is over.

“You’re okay?” I shrug my shoulders. Nothing about me right now is okay. My work clothes are sloppy with my hair sticking out from my ponytail and my face free from makeup. “Do me a favour and give yourself a break, will ya?” Jenny said. I smile and nodded. She smile and gave me a hug, before meeting Jack outside of the café. My eyes left them after they were out of my sight.
