Zoo AU part 2

Noah's pov:
I'd been watching this tired zoo worker for a while, now he was weirdly exploring me, although normally i would protest, he wasn't trying to hurt me, he was curious.

"Your feathers, are real?" he stroked my feathers

"Yes." i hugged my knees

"This is kinda cool." his hands suddenly traced my actual body, one on my arm and the only on my face as he yawns.

"I'm still a human." i blinked up at him

"Obviously, i bet it isn't comfortable here, in a place full of sand, you should come to my place." he gets up, giving me a hand as i take it, seeing as i couldn't really let go.

"This place smells like shit anyways." he sighed as we walk out of the zoo and right into a small house.

"So you can just morph into a human whenever?" he hands me some clothes to wear as i put them on while he looks away, getting some clothes out for himself, I've only ever had the same clothes I'd stolen from the zoo merch section, but the labels had worn off.

"Yeah, i can also just turn off my ability to be an animal or to be a human, i just like switching between the two, for now." i tried to explain, knowing it was probably confusing to understand.

"How often are you human?" he finally looks at me when he's in some cleaner clothes, placing his work clothes in the wash along with mine.

"More often than being an animal, I'm not really fond of it." i admit

"So you know basic human shit?" he sits next to me on his bed

"I guess." i admit, i knew how to shower, brush my teeth, eat at least twice a day, exercise.

"Then why don't you just stay a human now? You can stay here instead of in the zoo." he offers

"But i can't pay that." i furrowed my eyebrows

"Who said anything about paying me? It's fine, I'm already in a good place thanks to my parents inheritance, i only work for my mother's sake, it brings me closer to her, or i would've just stayed at home." he explains, smiling at me.

"Well, uh, thank you." i smiled back at him

"Now really, i may be nice, but i refuse to sleep on the floor or my sofa and there's no guest rooms, so we're sharing a bed, it's only until my back stops aching, i can't sleep anyways." he walks over to his bed as i follow him, watching his movements as we're both laying on the two pillows.

Even though he said he couldn't sleep, halfway into talking about how they used to experiment on me, he'd dozed off, his eyes were the same colour as my feathers, it suited him, sooner or later I'd fallen asleep as well.

When I'd woken back up, i turned to my right, feeling something on my chest as i looked down, his hand was on my chest as he was a lot more closer to me, his face hidden in the pillow as he layed on his stomach, his chest heaving up and down to hint he was still asleep.

I placed my hand on top of him, rubbing his knuckles as i woke myself up, not really knowing what to do now, so i stayed just thinking while staring up at the ceiling as he stirred to wake up, whining in his sleep.

"Shit, when did i move so close?" he yawned, lifting himself up as he sits, fixing his hair, removing his hand off my chest.

"You look more lively now."

"Thanks mate." he chuckles, before laying back down.

"Are you working today?" i tilted my head, staring into his eyes before his cheeks turned pink and he looked away.

"No, it's a Saturday, thankfully, we should go out though, get you some clothes and a phone and well, i don't know, come on." he pats my thigh as i followed him into the bathroom, he hands me a toothbrush with toothpaste on it.

"I'm gonna change."

After we'd gone out to the town square, I'd only seen a little bit of this when i was being dragged away, it was pretty busy for it only being the morning still, the first thing Michael did was buy me a phone.

"Your gonna get the same phone as me, which colour do you like?" he shows me a few colours to choose from.

"The red."

"Hm, you know, you'd look good with that hair colour." the phone guy comes over to us as he buys my phone and then a sim card before going to buy me clothes.

"Okay, so your definitely a medium, did they make you work out while you were being tortured?" he teased

"I did it by myself."

"Yeah, well it looks good on you, choose whatever you like, doesnt matter about the price, I'm not a brokey." he winks at me before getting distracted.
