Michael's pov:
"Mama!" Eri jumps into my arms as i put my phone back into my pocket before it falls, catching her as i get off the wall, nodding at her teacher.

"Hi, sweetheart, how was your day?" i booped her nose

"Good! Look!" she shows me the family tree project she'd been doing for a while.

"Okay, baby, I'll see it when we're in the car." i help her into her seat, making sure she's actually got her seatbelt on as i get into the car.

"Where's daddy?" she asks once were back home, i place her bag down, emptying her lunchbox

"He's at work, baby, he'll be back in a few hours." i smiled

"Can i have chicken nuggets?" she tilts her head as i nod, walking to the freezer and getting out the bag full of chicken nuggets, emptying about ten into the airfryer.

"You have any spelling to do today?"

"Noo." she lies

"Come on, I'll help you." i chuckled, getting out her spelling book

"Why do i need to do it if I'm already smart?" she whines

"Because you can always be smarter."

At six, Noah had returned home, looking disheveled than ever, his tie loosened as he drops his bag onto the floor, still managing to fake a smile at me and Eri, who pounced onto him, i placed her all blocks all away on the shelf full of toys.

"Hi, sweet girl, you been behaving?" he drops her down, taking off his blazer as she nods

"Are you okay?" i ask when he comes over to him, kissing me

"Mhm." he hugs me, pulling my biker shorts down slightly

"Are you tired?" i sit him down on the sofa as he wipes his face, holding me close

"Just want to be with you." he lays his head onto mine

"You hungry?"

"Not yet."

After a little while of Noah being lazy, I'd taken Eri to bed, watching as he tiredly changed his clothes.

"What happened at work?" i asked

"Nothing." he comes over to me, laying down on top of me on our bed

"I know your lying." i cup his face

"Fine, Akari's out of jail and she wants Eri back, court tomorrow."

"Wait, what, but she can't? It was legally proven she wasn't fit to look after Eri." i frowned

"I know, that's what's throwing me off, because now suddenly she seems to have redeemed herself." he groans, hugging me tighter, I'd noticed that whenever he's annoyed he always seems to like clinging onto me more, i guess it's better than yelling and blaming me.

"It's okay, she won't get to keep her."

"You don't know that."

"I know that you love Eri enough to defend her and fight for her." i play with his hair, picking up strands of his hair to create little hearts as he kisses up my neck

"If she goes I'll genuinely murder Akari."

"And get caught easily? nuh uh, if you wanna kill her at least be a little more sneaky, besides, Eri knows who her mother is, she clearly calls me her mother still, she can speak for herself as well."
