Michael's pov:
"Have a nice day." i fake smiled at the last family giving them their soveneirs they'd bought as they exchanged money with me, shoving it into the metal money box.
Finally, now i could actually go to bed.
I still didn't understand my mother's obsession with this whole animal thing, but here we are, an actual zoo that i took over because i didn't like any other job criteria.
I mean now they're all dead so really, it's in honor of my mother i guess, i worked here alone, couldn't be bothered training anybody and i didn't mind overworking myself, what else was i supposed to do other than sleep or go out drinking?
I went around, feeding and looking after each of the animals my mother made my father collect over the years they were alive, the last animal she'd gotten from him on their thirty nineth anniversary for their wedding was a peacock, who could apparently turn human from experiments but no one bothered testing that theory out.
I mean i guess i was a little curious but i didn't bother, too lazy, but I'd gone into their little place to feed them when I'd suddenly just witnessed the weirdest thing ever, or maybe not sleeping for a week straight had gotten to me.
I'd watched how the peacock just turned into an actual human, in complete confusion, i froze and tilted my head, furrowing my brows with my lips slightly parting to understand how the hell that just happened.
"Oh, hey." the boy coughs when he notices me, he's a brunette but with blue and green highlights in his hair, his eyes remind me of the sky when it's not gloomy, bits of his skin is also like a deep blue but he's i guess, the same skin complexion as me.
"What the fuck?" i blinked a few times, maybe the lack of sleep is getting to me.
"Your not hallucinating." he shrugs like it was some casual thing to just say or do, i walked over to him, touching his face, i mean it felt real.
