"Chrissy Cunningham?" Dustin demanded, pacing down the length of his room. Max was perched on his bed, Scarlett next to her. Blake had plopped down on Dustin's old bean bag. "You're sure it was Chrissy?" Dustin added, looking back at the youngest redhead.

Max nodded. "Yes, in her cheerleader outfit. Same thing she was in when I saw her with Eddie."

"Chrissy was the blonde right?" Scarlett gestured to her hair, looking around for answers. They replied in chorus 'yes'.

Dustin rubbed his face before crossing his arms again. "Did you tell all this to the cops?"

"No," Max hesitated. "No, but I... I can't be the only one who saw them together." Her eyes widend. "They stood out."

Not beleiving Max's story because it was simply too strange, Dustin shook his head. "Eddie the freak with Chrissy the cheerleader?" He overpronounced all his words skeptically.

"Exactly. You know, his name's not in the news yet or anything, but I guarantee you Eddie is suspect one now." Max looked down at her hands and Scarlett rubbed Max's shoulder comfortingly.

"That's crazy," Dustin declared with a huff, still pacing. Then he became determined and tightened his jaw. "Eddie didn't do this. No way." He shook his head. "No way."

"We can't rule it out," Max said softly.

Dustin's eye twitched. "Yes, we can."

Blake scowled and slowly put up her hands. "It wouldn't be the strangest thing to happen here," She muttered, head tilting innocently.

A Scott Summers glare cut through Blake as Dustin marched over to her. He used her seated position to his advantage and leaned over Blake, towering over her with hands on his hips. "You've never liked him!" He fumed, face growing red. "Besides you said you didn't see anything."

"Dustin," Scarlett snapped, effectively pulling Dustin out of his anger. He turned to face his sister and relaxed once he met her eyes. His shoulders sagged and he let out a breath.

"You don't know him like I do." Defeated he walked over to his bed and dropped down, feet resting on the drawer underneath his bed.

Max frowned. "Okay?"

Dustin sighed and his hand clenched together. "When we got to high school, Lucas and Floyd made all their sports friends..." He trailed off, brows knit together. "Mike and me? I mean, no one was nice to us. No one except Eddie." Memories of bullying flooded his head. The illusion that high school would be easier than middle school had been shattered within days.
