Scarlett ate Claudia's waffles in silence, the brunette wasn't stupid, she knew that Dustin had snuck out the previous night. The boy had been stupid enough to trip on his way to his room, alerting the teenager, who was in the process of climbing through her own window. Sure she was a little hypocrite, but she was seventeen and Dustin was just twelve.
"Did you sleep well?" Claudia asked her two children, Scarlett nodded, she had hardly slept through the night, but Claudia shouldn't have to worry.
"Yeah, I dreamt that I was in space. It was so cool. I was an astronaut and I was on the moon." Dustin smiled excitedly, showing off his toothless smile and Claudia gushed as she continued to talk to her youngest about his dream, and even though Scarlett was mad that Dustin had snuck out, she couldn't help a faint smile.
"So I'll pick up Blade Runner for us to watch tomorrow," Claudia called out as the two kids walked out of the house. "Okay mom."
"Bye mom."
After the two had fit Dustin's bike in the car's trunk, the brunette pulled out of the driveway "So, you going to tell me you snuck out, or are you gonna deny it?" She asked while rolling down the window so she could smoke while driving.
Dustin's eyes widened as he looked at her "Chill, I'm not going to tell mom." She turned on her blinker as she turned left.
"I just wanted to find Will," Dustin mumbled and Scarlett looked at him sideways.
"So I assume that Lucas and Mike also went with you?" Dustin shook his head, ready to keep his friends out of trouble.
"No, I went alone."
Scarlett made a 'hmmm' sound, she knew better than that. "I get that you want to find your friend. God knows what I'd do if Blake went missing. But I can't have you sneaking out alone." She exaggerated the word 'alone' and Dustin's face lit up and he grinned at her in his typical Dustin way, which made his eyes hide behind his cheeks.
"You are the best big sister."
"After school, can you come to Mike's house?" Dustin asked suddenly and Scarlett raised an eyebrow .
"Why?"
Dustin hesitated before he answered. "I have to show you something."
