"Can music save your mortal soul?"

The car ride was mostly silent for Scarlett and Nancy who sat in the front. Save Robin's very present energy, Scarlett was very much reminded of her original monster hunting trio. How naive they had been. And yet, Scarlett was in more danger now than she had been back then. She traced the scar in her palm, the one that matched Nancy's and Jonathan's.

Scarlett caught Nancy staring, but kept quiet. Crying would mess up their make up, which wouldn't help them.

Robin's rambling from the backseat was a welcomed distraction by Scarlett. Though neither brunette interacted much with Robin, the girl continued to talk about how uncomfortable Nancy's clothing was. In Robin's defence, Nancy did value looks more than comfort with most of her clothes. It also didn't help that Nancy was the smallest of the three.

The Wheeler parked the car and the three girls filed out. Scarlett's hands were trembling and she crossed her arms, folding her hands against her torso.

"I can't breathe in this thing, and I'm itchy." Robin tugged at her frilly baby pink blouse and looked at Nancy with loathing. "I'm itching all over." Robin grew red as she complained. The girl twisted her ankle and nearly faceplanted, luckily Scarlett hauled Robin up before someone got hurt.

Nancy shook her head. "It's not all about comfort. Okay? We're academics." Nancy looked around, worried that any employees saw them approaching whilst Robin was acting out of line.

Robin tugged at Nancy's bra. "Who are evidently coming straight from Easter brunch. Also, this bra that you gave me is really pinching my boobs," Robin grumbled and tried to find some soothing in the nightmarish clothing.

"We get it," Scarlett said, her voice squeaked. It surprised all three girls. Maybe Scarlett wasn't handling everything as well as she thought. Scratch that, she definitley wasn't. She had a terminal clock ticking inside of her head. At least in the Upside Down tunnels or the Russian bunker she had a fighting chance. She could mould fate to some extent. Her mind slowly killing her after all those years felt horrible. It wasn't fair. "Sorry." Scarlett looked down and inhaled sharply. She reached up and clutched her locket tightly in her hand.

Nancy cleared her throat and blinked away her tears. The girl pressed her trembling lips into a thin line. "Could you just let me do the talking? If that's even possible?" Her tone cut through to Robin, perhaps a little meaner than Nancy had intended.

"It's not only possible, it's inevitable. Because shortly, I'll be dead from strangulation," Robin hissed, once more tugging at her collar.

The trio from Hawkins filed in through the doors of the asylum and registered at the front desk.
