"The rain is full of ghosts tonight." ~Edna St. Vincent Millay .。❅*⋆⍋*∞*。*∞*⍋⋆*❅。
It was midnight when Scarlett Henderson entered her house, with the help of Blake, the two had changed Scarlett's tire so the brunette could drive home. As the blonde entered the living room, she saw a small figure curled up on the couch. A soft smile graced her features as she walked forward to Dustin, who had probably waited for her to come home. She pulled the old wool blanket over his body and placed a kiss on his forehead before she made her way towards her room.

"Remind we why we're involving my sister in all of this? I've seen her almost die of thirst because she didn't want to get up to get a glass of water," Dustin huffed as the trio walked towards their school..
"Because we need a responsible adult," Lucas retorted as he waved his arms.
"She's seventeen," Dustin emphasised and Lucas opened his mouth to reply, but Mike interjected.
"Stop it okay? Scarlett is going to help us now, let's go talk to her," Mike said before taking off towards the teenager who was smoking by the school entrance.
Scarlett turned the page of her book, sneaking out hadn't left a lot of room for studying the day before, and she was desperately trying to compensate. A half-eaten pear lay on the Hawkins High stairs beside her. "Scar!" The said girl looked up with raised eyebrows.
"What happened?" She asked, gaze flickering in between the three boys. She eyed her cigarette and deemed it not ready for disposal and put it to her lips again.
Lucas and Mike looked at Dustin expectedly, but when the curly haired boy kept quiet, Mike took the lead. "Can you meet us by the power lines behind my house at three fifteen?" The boy asked urgently.
Scarlett nodded, smoke drifted from her mouth. "Sure, why though? Are we going to fight some wicked monster?" A small smile played on her lips as she remembered a time that she and Nancy had dressed up as monsters and had chased the boys at the power lines when they were younger. But now they were all grown.
Finally, Dustin decided to speak. "We're going on a mission, El's coming too," Dustin quickly smiled as he had some input, but Lucas just rolled his eyes. "We'll tell you more about it later."
"Okay, I'll see you then." Scarlett stood up as she threw away her cigarette and her pear remained forgotten. Scarlett slung her backpack onto her shoulders and grabbed her textbook before heading into the bustling building.
Nancy and Steve kissing was the first thing that Scarlett saw as she entered the school. She was happy for them, but a pang of jealousy hit her. Nancy and Scarlett might not have been exactly best friends, but they were friends despite their recent distancing. And Steve, well, Scarlett wasn't interested in the boy; he was too boisterous and mean for her tastes. Still, something sweet, as they appeared to have, was desirable. Scarlett had only had one boyfriend, and he had promptly dumped her after taking her to bed a handful of times. Thankfully, he was expected not long after for drug possession. While she was caught up in her thoughts, Scarlett bumped into someone, or rather, someone bumped against her.
