Unexpected (ON HOLD)

Chapter 12

I shifted in my bed and checked the time on my phone. 4:43am.

I clicked it off and sat up as a yawn escaped my lips. This wasn't usually the time I wake up to but since I couldn't fall back to sleep, I decided to make use of this earliness. Besides, Chynna and I have an interview at 7. She'll probably be here at around 5:30 or so. The sky outside was a dark shade of purple and blue fading away into the day. I sat near the windowsill as I admired the beautiful scenery before me. You could just imagine the feeling of waking up to this with the person you love right beside you.

The person you love.

My grin grew wider. Just the thought of that person makes me smile.

Rhian..

Wait.. Did I really just thought of her as the person I love?

I put a hand on my forehead and closed my eyes. She's on my mind every single time I close my eyes. I sighed and smiled again.

I probably look like an idiot right now. Smiling all by myself for no apparent reason. I've never felt like this for a person before. It's like there's nowhere in the world that I'd rather be than to be right beside her everytime.

Leche ka, Rhi. Ginugulo mo pagkatao ko. Hahaha

I rested my head on the window glass as I scrolled the songs on my iPod. I wanted to hear something relaxing so I clicked on one of my favorite songs, "Heart on fire". The beat traveled to my ears and I let myself get lost in the moment. After about seven songs, I hooked up my iPod to the speakers and started my daily routine on the mat.

I was about halfway through my curl-ups when I heard a knock on the door. It's probably Chynna. The guard doesn't let some people in easily.

"Wait lang." I stood up and hung my towel on my right shoulder.

I gently pressed the fabric on my sweaty skin as I approached the door. I turned the knob and the door swung open, revealing two women standing before me. My eyes were wide as they were met with an unexpected pair of brown ones.

"Whooooooa. Shit, Cha. Too sexy. Naba-batchi ako ng wala sa oras e." Chynna teased as she looked at me from head to foot, chuckling.

I then realized how I looked like right now. I was wearing black sweatpants and a grey sports bra for my top. Leaving the rest of my body completely exposed, including my tummy. Sweat covered my body and my right hand was still clasping the back of my neck. I was also catching my breath from the exercise that I was doing a while ago. My hair was a bit messy and beads of sweat from my forehead had already made their way to my collarbone.

"Huy, Yon!" Chynns snapped her fingers in front of Rhian's face but she didn't even cringe.

My eyes shifted back to those brown ones. But this time, her gaze wasn't on my eyes. She was looking at my neck. Wait, let me rephrase that. She was STARING at my super sweaty neck. A warm sensation burned its way up my face. I looked back at Chynna who was smiling in disbelief. I composed myself and cleared my throat.

"U-uh. S-sorry, pasok muna kayo." I gave a small smile and walked inside my room. They followed behind me and sat on my bed. Well, Chynns lied down on my bed. She practically lives here. I walked over to my mini fridge and bent down to look for cool drinks.
