"Hey?" he asks, as he looks at all of us nervously. After looking at him at length, my dad allows me to let him in through the door. He is drenched in rainwater from head to toe. (Clichéd I know...) My mother offers him a towel to dry off his head.(which I suppose, is a random act of kindness, provided what deep trouble he's getting me into, right now.) My brother stares at me in shock. I never told anyone about the relationship. I knew I would regret it later, but I never expected this nonsense to happen on my birthday.
"Hi....P...pe.....pew" "Felix." he replies, with a small smile. The tiny smile that won my heart in the first place. "Marzia," My mom finally speaks at length. "Is he Italian?" "No." I reply. I realize I am the main translator between my parents and 'Feleex'. "Why are you here?" my dad asks. Out of curiosity, Felix asks what he just said and I told him. He boldly declares that he was going to give me a surprise by coming here. I feel something fuzzy and warm inside me. He wants to......surprise me? My dad gives me a death stare all the time. I really don't know how this is going to go. My mother sighs and walks stealthily to the kitchen, as if she is planning to kill Felix with a knife. Felix looks at me with guilt and fear written on his face, and tears in his eyes. I've never seen him like this before. I've only heard him sob while he was playing Amnesia, but he looks so pathetic right now! I wish I could hug him. My mother puts down all the items for dinner and says: "tell your 'boyfriend' to eat dinner." with all the bitterness in the world stressing on the word 'boyfriend'. Felix wipes a tear from his eyes, glances at me sadly and leaves for the dining table. He can't be reacting like this in this situation. Something else might be the matter! We both eat our dinner quietly; and my dad looks daggers at him. I wonder what he did wrong to deserve this. Then, the phone rings. Felix turns paper white while he takes the phone out....'H...hello'? He stammers.
