*Marzia*
Fanny unlocks the family car and ushers both of us in. She makes Felix sit in the back and I ride shotgun. I can see him pout and cross his arms in the rear mirror and I giggle. He smiles back and looks away. In five minutes we are in front of a large, white and red house, with dark green creepers on the windowsill. The roof is covered with small red coloured tiles, and the door is on a dark brown, and when Felix raps on the door, it makes a rich and loud pleasant noise, which I would love to hear everyday compared to the deafening noise that is our doorbell. Felix holds both our hands as the door opens to a well dressed gentleman of about seventy, who looked very well built. He is dressed in a white button down and grey trousers. He smiles at us  politely , and ruffles Felix's hair. He grips Fanny by her shoulder playfully and offers his hand to shake to me, which I do.
These customs are weird.
From his gestures, I can tell he wants us to come inside, and we all go.we sit on a brown coloured couch, in front of a cackling fire. On top of the fireplace, I see a cluster of photo frames and I move forward to see them.
I take one picture off the showcase and observe it. It is a picture of a small girl with blonde hair, wearing a mischievous grin on her cute face while a small, red baby lies on her lap. In the picture, she tries to shove a cup inside his mouth.

I start laughing hard till my sides hurt.Felix chuckles nervously while he approaches me. He sees the picture and laughs along. "My sister was so sweet she wanted to kill me as soon as I was born." He whines mockingly. We both look at Fanny as she slightly pulls her glasses down to stare at us.
"You look so cute in this picture!" I comment and she accepts it graciously.  My eyes feast on another picture and before I lift it off , grandfather walks into the living room with a tray with four cups of what looks like apple cider. He offers it to me and I take it from his firm and unshaking hand. I take sip and it feels like heaven. I close my eyes and relish the taste.
"Where are you from?" He asks in his extremely thick accent.
"Italy." I reply briefly.
"Where from, child?"
"Um...Veneto?" I blush at the word child.
I take another sip of the cider and feel my hands getting warmth from the glass cup.
He asks Felix something in Swedish, to which he smiles. He adds the words subscribers, views and paycheck to his dialogue so I assume he's talking about YouTube. It's amazing that a person this age is even interested in new fangled technology. And in Italy, I had to teach my parents how to use the computer. I was delighted to see that he was open to what Felix was doing, and did not berate or shame him for not going to Chalmers. Fanny listens to the conversation ardently, and momentarily smiles at me whenever my name is mentioned in the conversation.
Grandfather smiles at me and looks at both of us. He notices the cast on my arm and enquires about it. I feel the muscles in Felix's arm tense while he looks at me momentarily.
"She slipped in the snow and dislocated her elbow." He lied while rubbing his nose with his pointer. Grandfather nods sympathetically and takes a sip of his probably cold cider. "Dislocation? That will probably take three weeks then?" I nodded, smiling.

*Felix*
My cellphone rings again and I see my mother on the caller ID.
"Hello Felix?"
"Yes mum?"
"Are you in grandfather's house?"
"Yes mum"
"Does Marzia know?"
"No mum, I can't tell her now, she'd get upset." I whisper so that no one can listen to me, even though I'm speaking in Swedish.
"Okay. I'll be there in ten minutes. Then you can go home and feed Maya and do other coupley stuff. Deal?"
I laugh and say "deal."
I keep the phone and tell everyone that mum is arriving in ten minutes. Marzia slaps her knee repeatedly instead of clapping. Grandfather says he has a little backache, but reassures us saying it's something he can manage. We take a sip of our ciders we I realise Marzia's is empty. I pour some in her cup as she smiles at me. Soon, we hear knocks on the door as I rush to open it. I see my mother and hug her. Both mother and grandfather nod acknowledging each other while Marzia tries her best to hide her confusion. Fanny hugs mum and both of us share a seat. Mum excuses us and tells us to go home. We bid our farewell to grandfather and we are on our way.

We walk hand in hand, looking at the shadow below us. I can't believe the first day of the year flew by so fast, it's already noon! We reach home and Marzia unlocks the door one handedly. We enter and we both sit on the couch.

"Felix, I have something to ask you."
"Sure, tell me Marzia."
"Why did you lie to grandfather about my cast?"
I scratch my head and start to answer. " He doesn't do well with stress, Marzia. He doesn't even know what Carley did to both of us. No one told him anything. At this age, we should be careful about the news we tell them, right?" Marzia nods, seemingly satisfied.
"Another question?" She looks at me, her eyes pleading.
"Sure." I accept. I'm down for answering questions so that people get to know me better.

"Where is Grandmother?"
