*Felix*
I wake up to Marzia jumping and throwing pillows on me.
"WAKE UP WAKE UP IT'S CHRISTMAS!!!" she screams.
"Let yo man sleep or you're getting coal in your stocking." I threaten, and get up anyway.
I freshen up and Marzia gently tidies my hair. She gently parts it to see the stitches and she lets out a sigh of relief. "I don't see them anymore."
We go down the stairs for breakfast where Marzia's dad is already sitting at the table. He gives me a smile and motions me to sit next to him. I do the suggested meekly and hits my back and chuckles.
"Thank you to bring Marzia here."
"You're welcome, Sir."
"No sir, my name Marziano."
Wait what?
"Your name is Marziano?" i confirm.
"Yes. I Marziano, she Marzia."
I smile at the clever naming.
"She was Luna, then name changed to Marzia. She liked it."
"Ooohhh..." I reply, as Marzia smiles at both of us. Davide comes out of the room ruffling his short curly hair and wearing Bermudas with flowers printed on them.
"Sorry...I was in the office. Nice to meet you! Merry Christmas!!" he pipes.
I get up and offer my hand to shake and he pulls his arm and gives me a hug. Marzia's mother came out of the kitchen holding a tray with some fried balls sprinkled with white powder, maybe powdered sugar. She sets it politely on the table and says "These are fritelles. They are sweet and crispy. But careful, they are hot."
I take one with my hand and blow on it to make sure it cools down a little bit. I bite it and relish the flavor. I let out an involuntary grin as i hear Marzia aww at me. "I love it." I finally say take three more and feed Marzia one (to her delight). Her mom and dad are flattered by this gesture and they look at us endearingly.
"You are a good young man." Marzia's mom says and her dad agrees.
My phone then rings and it's my dad.
I answer it with a smile.
"Felix, how are you?"
"I'm fine, papa. How are the dogs?"
"They are great! Ynk really loves Maya now. She is even licking her and smelling her everywhere."
I giggle. "Merry Christmas Papa!"
"Merry Christmas to you too, son."
I end the call, and Marzia looks at me happily.
"Remember when this happened three months ago, you ran to the bathroom and cried like a baby?" Marzia teased.
"You totally didn't." I said, rolling my eyes.
"I thought you were going to kill yourself, cut me some slack!" she rolled her eyes too.
"I'd never do such a selfish thing." I assure.
"I love you."
"I love you too, Marzia."
The family whooped and screamed as those were the only three words that didn't need any translation.
This is the best Christmas ever.
