Fanny pushes her way into the house and she sits on the sofa, lets and arms crossed. She looks away from me, evidently angry. I sit on the far end of the sofa and an awkward silence ensues.
"So you know?" I ask, trying to start a conversation. My sister would rather keep quiet than talk when she's angry. She's afraid she might hurt someone with her sharp tongue.
"I do. I was going to talk to her about the dream hack event that you just went to, when she said that you both have broken up." '
"Broken up? Is that what this is?"
"Don't give me that crap, Felix. You were the one who said that you were done with her."
I looked down in shame and rubbed my cheeks. "You have no idea how bad she felt about the whole thing. Imagine you both having the kiss of your life at one moment and being kicked out of the house the next. And also telling her she's not worth spending on; who the hell are you?" she scolded and i nodded in agreement to what she said. Count on your big sister to knock some sense into your head. "What shall i do now?" i ask her immediately as soon as her monologue completes.
"What caused you to say all that to Marzia when you realized the purpose of that suitcase?"
"I didn't want her to leave. I always felt that she would give every opportunity she gets...but..."
"Did she?" fanny asks, slightly pulling down her glasses down her nose bridge.
"No."
"Let me tell you what happens in our family, Felix. Remember, we always keep a suitcase full of our documents, clothes, money and other survival necessities. When there is a calamity; say fire, we can immediately pull it out of our hiding spot and run out of the house. That was the same reason Marzia had her suitcase. She would have shared it with you if both of you had to run out of a burning building, you know that? Now do you think she's selfish?" she speaks softly as if to a child.
"No." I reply, speechless.
"The only reason why Marzia left was because she saw porn as a way of you cheating on her. She thought you cheated on her." fanny spoke sternly. I look at the ground and let out a sigh.
"What do i do?" i ask again.
"It is funny that you should ask me that question. You are the one who called off the relationship!" she retorted. I cover my face with my hands and i try so hard not to cry. I feel a hand on my shoulder and i look at Fanny, who is seated very close to me. She strokes my shoulder lightly.
"Do you know why you're still asking me what to do? It means only one thing, Felix."
I smile at Fanny and nod my head.
"I love her."
