*Marzia*
I wake up and try to stretch, when my arm feels weighed down by something. I lift my head and see the pink cast and remember what happened yesterday. I see Felix, lying back towards me with his hand supporting his head. I get up and let him sleep, because it was a big day for him...well...all of us, but mostly him. I see Fanny in the kitchen petting Maya's head. "Hello, princess! I didn't notice you here." I giggle, not sure who that was for.
She looks at me and greets me while she carries Maya with one hand and combs her long, blonde hair with the other. "What happened here?" she points at Maya's non-existent eye, while Maya notices her pointer and starts licking it. "A cat scratched her eye" i reflected sadly. "Was this before or after you bought her?" She questions, presuming this happened to her after we adopted her. "Before. She's so lovely and she took a liking to us immediately and the owner of the shop told us that people didn't like her because of her flaw, but really what matters is what's on the inside. She's so loving, cuddy and fluffy, and she was such a good girl yesterday! I even forgot she was in the bathroom with me. "
Fanny smiles at me and says I'm really kind. I smile back at her and i hear a deep voice from behind that makes me smile even wider. I look at him while he messes around with his dirty blonde hair and he gives me a sleepy smile, which makes my heart melt."Good morning Fanny" he greets as he hugs her with one hand. They both look at each other affectionately while Felix comes towards me and hug me tight with two hands. I can't help but ask a question. "Felix, why did you not hug Fanny with two hands?" Felix and Fanny smile at me as if i was a little child and he replied- "Because she's not my girlfriend. That's kinda how it works here." He winks at me which makes me feel....nothing...not saying it.
Fanny searches the closets, only to find some bread and cheese spread in a corner. Fanny looks at us in horror. "Okay, let me get this straight. You could buy a healthy adorable pug but couldn't buy a couple of vegetables?" Felix shrugged his shoulders and grinned broadly. After a moment of thinking, she tells us to wear our best clothes so she can treat us. Felix retorts, assuming she's doing it for charity. Fanny rubbishes his accusation, saying it's the least she could so for her brother.
I smile as I walk towards my room while Fanny enters in. she sees the clothes and without even pulling out the label, she exclaims 'KappAhl!!!" I laugh and she jokes "I would know..." she points to the pink flowery dress and i grin in reply as it is honestly my favourite. I wear it in a jiffy and Fanny softly combs my hair. "Have i ever told you how cute you look in dresses? I blush and don't answer, not knowing what she wants to hear. "I take that...as a no." Fanny answers her own question.
Felix walks out wearing a white full sleeved button down and black trousers with suspenders, and he has a bowtie attached to his collar. We look at him endearingly and we are about to leave when Maya plods towards us. I decide to take her for a walk. The four of us stride and we follow Fanny wherever she goes. Felix lets out a noise of realization and smiles. We reach a pretty looking vegetable shop and she hands me an empty basket. I hold it with my right hand as Fanny shows me what vegetables I should buy and how to see if they are fresh while I smile at her gratefully. She is a really nice person. Felix being Felix grabs some chocolates and sugary juices and dumps them in the basket as Fanny gives him a sisterly glare. Felix smiles, shrugs and skips to the noodle aisle. He then brings back three cartons of ramen, two of which had the offer I asked for the other day. How does he even remember that stuff from weeks ago? After a lot of bickering between Felix and Fanny, we finally reach the cashier. More bickering ensues as both of them argue about who should pay the bill. I wish I could contribute, but I have no money. Finally both of them decide to pay the bill and they quickly dump all the vegetables and stuff in the bags and Felix carries them as we head out.
Felix takes out a leash from the bag and I smile at him. He beckoned Maya (who was sitting outside the whole time while I was standing at the door) to come to him. She comes and paws his knee. He opens the leash wide enough so that her neck fits into the loop and then he tightens it and makes sure she is comfortable. Fanny smiles at him and messes with his hair, making him cringe. Maya takes the wheel as we walk back home.
I realize something. "Fanny, why did you come to our house in the first place?" she puts her arm on my back. "I just wanted to pay you a visit, but I ended up saving both of your little butts." She brags. "Fanny..."Felix whines, pretending to be embarrassed. We walk back home and Maya is the first one to set foot in the house as she noisily frolics around the house. Felix dumps the bags unceremoniously on the dining table and plops on the sofa.
Fanny rolls her eyes as she ties her long hair into a neat bun. She starts picking out some vegetables and washes them under the sink. She then proceeds to mince them and she fries them in a saucepan. She adds some salt and some oregano, dramatically shaking the dispenser to catch my attention. She then switches off the stove and takes out the bread and toasts it. She generously puts the filling inside the bread and takes out a slice of cheese from the bag. "Felix will never eat only vegetables. Always make sure there is cheese wherever there are vegetables." She fake warns, making me giggle. "Hey I heard that!" Felix screams from the other room. Fanny comes out of the kitchen and I hear an 'OW' and start laughing hard. "My sister touched my butt" he whines. We finally sit down on the table as I dump my casted left arm on the glass table, making a loud clink sound. I try to eat the sandwich with only my right hand, while Fanny grabs a knife and cuts it into smaller pieces. I thank her while I take a bite.
Delicious.
