Drews POV:

It was horrible to watch my best friends breaking down like this, knowing it was my fault, but that there was absolutely nothing I could do about it.

They couldn't even see me.

"Drew can't be de-" Laurence paused, obviously unable to bring himself to say "dead". "But Barronè seemed so happy when we- He doesn't know yet, does he?" He finished.

"In this sort of situation, when someone has amnesia like Mr Barronè, it's best to have someone they're familiar within the room when we break the news. Otherwise they can become afraid and even lash out." I was glad she'd waited until the guys got here to tell him, I hated the idea of him feeling so lost and scared without even me to protect him. Kier looked up from Laurence's chest, where he'd been hiding his face. Laurence's shirt was covered in damp patches from Kier crying into it. "Y-you mean- we have to- to tell him?" Kier gasped out.

Nurse Willow looked down, "Ideally that would be best, however I can understand fully if you don't feel up to it." She looked up again and made eye contact with Luke, who seemed to be taking the news the best. Unlike Bevers and Kier who where sobbing loudly, he was sat quietly, tears slowly dripping down his face. It was only because I knew him so well that I could tell he was screaming internally, the same way he did when we got abuse for the way we look, or when he sees a fan being mistreated in the audience. He wanted to yell and scream or punch a wall, but he couldn't because he always thought it was his role to keep his emotions under control. I walked over to him and wrapped my arms around his shoulders, he stiffened and I froze. Could he feel me? He relaxed slightly and I sighed in disappointment. Of course he couldn't feel me. The only person who was able to see or feel me was Barronè, presumably because he was the person I was closest to in life. I was only just starting out at this haunting thing though, maybe things will change as time goes by. So long as I can continue to be there for Barronè I don't care what else happens.

The tree men sat there for a while in near silence, minus the now slightly quieter sobbing, then Kier spoke. "Shall we... do this then?" he asked quietly, as if dreading the answer. Luke and Laurence nodded slowly.

The nurse spoke for the first time in at least ten minutes, "Before you speak to your friend I need to explain something to you. Mr Barronè believes that he saw Mr Woolnough a short while ago, after he- arrived here. It is quite likely that he was merely dreaming and got confused with reality, but it is also possible that he was hallucinating or even something more serious than that. I don't want to cause you unnecessary worry, but you need to be fully aware of the situation before you see him."

Barronè told her he'd seen me? Shit, no wonder she was so worried about him. I need to speak to him before they do. No sooner than I had finished thinking that thought I found myself in front of Barronè. Wow, that was going to take some getting used to. Barronè looked up, startled. "Drew, you're back! Is it time to go home yet, they've been in there forever!" He didn't notice that I'd just teleported over to him? What was the point in being dead if you couldn't scare your boyfriend with your ghost tricks? "Listen to me Barronè, in a minute the guys are going to come out, and they're going to tell you some things that you won't want to believe. When they do just remember that I am right beside you. Okay? You can't mention that you can see me though, and if the nurse asks you about when you saw me earlier tell her you think it was all a dream, got it baby?"

Barronè looked at me with wide eyes. "What's happening Drew? Why do I have to pretend?" I couldn't tell him yet or else he wouldn't react the way he was expected to react later. I didn't want the nurse to think he was insane. "I'll explain it all later, when we get home. If you don't do what I just said though they're not going to let you home today. Do you think you can pretend for me?"

Just then the door to Barronès room opened and a splotchy faced Kier comes out.

"Barronè, we need to talk buddy. Come in here with us."
