Barronès POV:
I step into the bathroom and quickly check that all of the stalls are empty. "Drew?" l called, then waited a moment before calling him again. Still he didn't come and I sighed in disappointment. "Where are you Drew?" l murmured sadly, then told myself not to be so selfish. Drew had been through a lot today and was probably off resting somewhere. Hell be back soon. l used the toilet, as convenient as it was to use it as an excuse for privacy l really did need the loo. l've been in and out of consciousness for the last twelve hours and that hasn't left any time for toilet breaks!
After that l retraced my steps my steps back to the room where l'd left the guys. When l arrived back Luke was the only one there, along with a tall red haired woman in a nurses uniform who l'd never seen before. "Um... Hi." l said nervously.
"Hello Cyrus, my name is Sarah. Willow's gone home now, so l'm going to keep an eye on you. ls that okay?" She explained in a patronising tone, the sort you might use to talk to a baby. Luke seemed to pick up on my irritation and spoke up on my behalf. "Sarah, Barronè has remembered all of the events that he had previously forgotten. Really you don't need to treat him as if he's... slow." He said it all respectably and Sarah looked down at the notes on her clipboard, ng through pages and scanning the patient information. "Ah, l see... l'm sorry; that "Mr Barronè is having difficulty distinguishing between what is real and what is his imagination. He is hallucinating and has been sedated for the second time today." But that was written at six seventeen. lt's odd Willow should have updated it."
"Yeah, we had a bit of a... situation. Before Barronè recovered his memory he ran off... We spent quite a while looking for him."
I hung my head in shame. "Nurse Willow won't get in trouble will she?" I asked. Nurse Willow had been so kind to me, hated the thought of having gotten her into trouble. "No, no. lt's fine sir. Tell me Barronè; how are you feeling physical? Do you have any pains at all?" She asked whilst writing hastily on the clipboard, probably updating the notes that Nurse Willow had written. "l feel fine." l told her honestly, she nodded and scribbled down more notes.
"Now, can you tell me about these hallucinations? What did you see?"
"l saw Drew and he was telling me that he loved me and that everything would be okay." l told her truthfully. "But I haven't seen him since l woke up." I led seamlessly, just as Drew had instructed. Sarah jotted all of this down too, then asked a question that l really didn't want to discuss. "Could you please tell me what happened earlier," She scanned Nurse Willows notes again, "between you and Drew leaving, and when you woke up in the ambulance?"
l shook my head. "l don't want to discuss it." Sarah opened her mouth to try and persuade me to tell her, but Luke cut her off. "What if Cy explains it all to me first and then we'll tell you together after that?" He suggests and l nod infusiasticly. That's a much better idea than trying to make me explain the death of the man l love to a woman l'd only met ten minutes ago.
"l guess that could work. l'll go and wait outside, take all the time you need."
