Kiers POV:
Finally Laurence's name was called out and we were led into yet another small, sterile room. l'm really getting sick of seeing the same bare white walls over and over again. l long to go home to the disarray of our little flat and have one of our horror movie marathons, they're practically a tradition now. Me and Laurence sit on the two seater sofa and Drew sits on Barronès lap on one of the two armchairs and Luke sits on the other. We always end up getting a bot drunk and falling asleep in little piles of cuddled up bodies. l guess that's just one of the many things that aren't going to be the same anymore.
Inside the room a small, round, old man with a fluffy grey beard was waiting to give Laurence his xray. He looked distinctly like Santa... Dr Santa told me that l had to go and wait outside while he did the xray; something to do with unnecessary exposure to radiation. I tried to convince him that I really didn't care, but he told me that he couldn't begin the xray until l was gone, so l reluctantly agreed to wait outside.
I leant over and kissed Laurence's forehead and whispered, "l'll be right back love, call me if you need me." The doctor shot us a disgusted look, only just realising that we were a couple and not just mates. l turned around to face him fully. "What?" l challenged him. Laurence recognised my ton, it was the same one l used whenever someone gave us shit for our bands image. "Don't worry about it Kier." Laurence instructed and the look on his face made me pause. He looked as if he was one step away from falling apart, as if one jolt will send him crumbling into pieces. "Okay baby." I murmured finally and leave the room, shooting the doctor one final warning look on my way.
l don't know how much time had passed before l was allowed back into the xray room, it felt like hours but in truth it was probably much less. "Are you okay?" l asked Laurence as soon as l got into the room and he smiled weakly at me. "Just q couple of broken ribs." He told me and l frowned. Just? "Aw, Laur baby! Are you okay? Do you want me to go and get you anything? Or l can take you home if you like?" I was fully aware that l was stressing out, but not really caring. lf l know Laurence then he'll try to play this off as nothing, whilst in reality he'll be in tons of pain. "l'm fine Kier. Let's go find Luke and Barronè." See, l knew that he would try to pretend that he was okay.
"Laur-"
"l'm fine Kier, lets go." He pressed.
"Fine, but l'm carrying you." Laurence's cheeks flushed pink and he looked down at his lap. "You really don't need to."
"l want to, l like carrying you." l admitted and Laurence smiled properly for the first time. "Really?" I was just about to answer him when the doctor cleared his throat. "Mr Beveridge l've given you a prescription for some strong pain killers, if you want to go and collect them now? Should you have any problems please contact your GP." Laurence nodded and l carefully picked him up, he rested his head against my chest and his fluffy black hair tickled my face. l carried him to the pharmacy, where we had to wait another twenty minutes before Laurence received a small bottle of grey and red tablets. After that Laurence insisted on walking for himself, he said it was because he didn't want Barronè to see him and be upset because he would think Laurence was in pain because of him. We walked back to the room, which turned out to be in the maternity wing, hand in hand.
